Gia Nghĩa – Chơn Thành Highway Construction: Progress and Relocation Efforts
In a recent development, the Project Management Unit for Investment and Construction in Dong Nai province has announced that over 1,000 households within the project area are eligible for resettlement.

As of early August 2025, provincial authorities in Dong Nai have issued land retrieval notices for over 2,100 plots of land out of approximately 3,700 plots in the project area. Following the notices, officials conducted a comprehensive inventory of houses, structures, and crops on the land.
Regarding resettlement efforts, Dong Nai province plans to construct six resettlement areas in the communes of Bu Dang (1 location), Dong Tam (2 locations), Tan Loi (1 location), and the wards of Binh Phuoc (1 location) and Chon Thanh (1 location). These resettlement areas will span over 26 hectares, offering more than 990 resettlement lots.
The Gia Nghĩa – Chơn Thành Highway project boasts a length of approximately 124 kilometers, traversing the provinces of Lam Dong and Dong Nai. The section passing through Dong Nai is over 101 kilometers long.
The project is divided into five components, with Component 1 involving the construction of the Gia Nghĩa – Chơn Thành Highway through a PPP investment model. Component 3 entails the construction of access roads and overpasses in Dong Nai province, while Component 5, managed by Dong Nai province, focuses on compensation, support, and resettlement for the implementation of Components 1 and 3.
According to the approved project adjustments, Component 5 has a total investment of nearly VND 4,000 billion. The project is scheduled to commence in 2024, with completion targeted for 2026 and operation beginning in 2027.
