The Steering Committee for Key Projects in the 2021-2025 period of Hung Yen province recently held a meeting to evaluate the implementation of several key projects in the region.

The conference discussed important content regarding the progress of these key projects, including the construction of a road connecting cultural heritage and promoting economic development along the Red River.

According to reports, some sections of the heritage road project have been cleared and handed over to the investor, and the process of selecting contractors is underway.

At the meeting, the leaders of Hung Yen province instructed relevant agencies to complete the approval of bidding results and contractor selection so that the project can commence construction on August 19, a significant date commemorating the August Revolution and National Day.

The leaders emphasized the importance of this project as a celebratory landmark for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

The road connecting cultural heritage and promoting economic development along the Red River is a Group A project with a total investment of nearly VND 9,300 billion. The route is approximately 56 km long, passing through Van Giang, Khoai Chau, Kim Dong, and the old city of Hung Yen.

Starting at Km0+00, the provincial boundary between Hung Yen and Hanoi (Xuan Quan commune, Van Giang district), the road will neighbor the Ecopark urban area. It will end at Km55+680, intersecting the left dike of the Red River (Tan Hung ward, Hung Yen city).

As per the design documents, the route will comprise two roads: a main road built to Grade II standards for plains areas with a speed limit of 100 km/h, and a secondary road with standards equivalent to Grade IV for plains areas and a speed limit of 60 km/h. The project also includes the construction of two bridges over the irrigation canal at Lien Nghia and Nghi Xuyen pump stations and a bridge over the Nghi Xuyen River, suitable for crossing the river and irrigation canal.

Upon completion, the project is expected to contribute to the formation of a regional connecting route, linking cultural and spiritual heritage sites along the Red River, from Thang Long to Pho Hien, Tam Chuc, Bai Dinh, and Chua Huong.
