To ensure seamless service for passengers during the National Day holiday on September 2nd, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority has directed airlines to closely monitor booking and sales trends to promptly adjust their operational plans. This includes adding and increasing flights on high-demand routes, especially to and from the capital city of Hanoi, in the days leading up to and following the holiday.

Airlines are to proactively collaborate with local authorities and tourism entities to develop promotional programs and aviation-tourism package deals (combo) associated with political and cultural events. This strategy aims to offer diverse options for passengers and boost tourism and transportation demand during the holiday period.
Airlines are instructed to promptly inform flight increment plans to airport authorities and aviation service providers to facilitate unified resource allocation. Comprehensive and timely information regarding flight schedules and incremental plans should be disseminated through mass media and digital communication platforms.
Airlines should prepare their resources to maximize aircraft and crew utilization, including pilots, flight attendants, and technicians. Emphasis on strict adherence to aviation safety and security regulations, coupled with courteous and attentive service, is to be communicated to all staff members.
Airlines are obligated to comply with domestic air transport fare regulations, selling tickets within the approved fare framework and the carrier’s pricing policies. Tight control over ticket sales by agents is imperative to ensure pricing compliance.
Enhanced passenger support is to be provided, particularly in check-in areas, with encouragement for passengers to utilize online check-in options. Authorized personnel should be readily available to address any complaints or grievances promptly and responsibly. Carriers must also fulfill their obligations towards passengers in cases of prolonged delays or flight cancellations and minimize instances of flight disruptions due to technical issues or airline-related causes.
Safeguarding Passenger Rights during the September 2nd Holiday
The Vietnam Airports Corporation and Van Don International Airport are tasked with reviewing and augmenting personnel, equipment, and fire-fighting resources. Enhanced runway and apron inspections and timely incident response plans are crucial. Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports are instructed to deploy additional staff to expedite security checks and baggage handling, preventing congestion. Stringent quality and pricing controls are to be enforced for signage and non-aviation services.
The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is responsible for ensuring smooth air traffic control, mitigating congestion at major airports, and maintaining vigilant supervision of equipment and technical infrastructure.
Service providers and Northern, Central, and Southern Aviation Authorities are to collaborate in intensifying operational and service supervision and enforcing strict penalties for violations, particularly addressing issues of illegal transportation services and fare gouging.
The entire industry is committed to sustaining service quality and safeguarding passenger rights throughout the holiday period.
According to Noi Bai International Airport, this holiday season is expected to witness a surge in passenger numbers. International passenger numbers are projected to reach a record high, with nearly 44,000 passengers on certain days—the highest ever. Domestic passenger numbers are also on the rise. On peak days, the airport forecasts serving approximately 110,000 passengers across 638 flights, marking a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
From August 14th to September 2nd, Noi Bai International Airport will buzz with diverse flight operations.
Tô TỠHà , Director of Noi Bai International Airport, affirms their meticulous preparations and flexible contingency plans to adeptly manage any unforeseen situations. He expresses the pride of each staff member in contributing to the success of this significant event.
