Vietnam Airlines Forges Strategic Partnerships with Korean Counterparts

Vietnam Airlines has signed several Memorandums of Understanding with leading South Korean companies, outlining a comprehensive range of collaborative initiatives. A key focus of these partnerships is the planned joint venture with Korean Air and VAECO, a Vietnam Airlines Group subsidiary, for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services based at the Long Thanh International Airport. This project will enhance Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure and foster deeper cooperation between the two nations in the aviation industry.

Vietnam Airlines and Korean Air have also agreed to strengthen their cargo transportation services, including collaborative cargo sales, joint transportation ventures, and enhanced international connectivity. This strategic move will boost competitiveness, expand market share, and establish a flexible cargo corridor between Vietnam, South Korea, and other key markets, ultimately facilitating Vietnam’s import and export activities.

In a significant boost to bilateral tourism promotion, Vietnam Airlines, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), and Saigontourist Group have joined forces. This collaboration aims to not only increase tourist exchanges but also offer diverse and appealing tourism products, along with joint promotional efforts, to elevate the profiles of both Vietnam and South Korea on the international tourism map, contributing to the economic growth of both nations.

This model will not only boost two-way tourist flows but also pave the way for high-value-added tourism products, enhancing the competitiveness of the national tourism industry.

These Memorandums of Understanding signify Vietnam Airlines’ pivotal role in fostering bilateral cooperation, expanding flight networks, and integrating tourism, aviation, and logistics ecosystems.
