According to a report by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM), wood and wooden product exports to the US in the first six months of 2025 achieved impressive results. Specifically, export turnover reached $4.6 billion, an increase of over 11% compared to the same period last year. This strategic market now accounts for more than 55% of the total export turnover of the entire wood industry.
This performance helps Vietnamese wooden furniture maintain its position as the second-largest provider to the US market, only after China. It is a positive signal, indicating the trust of importers in the quality and production capacity of Vietnamese enterprises.
To continue this growth momentum, VCCI-HCM, in collaboration with the Handicraft Fine Arts Wood Union Joint Stock Company and the Vietnam Building Materials Association (VABM), is organizing the 3rd International Fair for Vietnamese Indoor and Outdoor Products and Fine Arts, VIFA ASEAN 2025. The event is considered a strategic international playground to promote the brand of Vietnamese wooden furniture, taking place from August 26 to 29, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.

The fair gathers over 200 businesses and is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors. This event is also important as it marks the beginning of a series of leading furniture fairs in Asia in the fall of 2025, including major fairs in South Korea, Malaysia, China, and Indonesia, providing convenient opportunities for international buyers.
A special highlight to help businesses make a breakthrough this year is the Business Matching Program, which is being organized for the first time. In both direct and online formats, the program will effectively connect businesses with global buyers, helping them seek new orders right at the event. Through these activities, international buyers will gain a comprehensive overview of the production capacity of Vietnam’s wood industry.

VIFA ASEAN 2025 is expected to be a solid launchpad, helping businesses leverage their current success to overcome challenges, diversify markets, and contribute to affirming the position and quality of Vietnamese wooden furniture on the world furniture map.
However, VCCI representatives also cautioned about the risk of the wood industry’s over-reliance on the US market. The industry still faces challenges such as supply chain fluctuations and high ocean freight rates. Nevertheless, with careful preparation, the wood industry remains confident in achieving the export target of $18 billion for the whole of 2025. |
