Experience the charm of Hue with Grab’s new pedicab service

On August 15, as part of a three-year collaboration agreement with Hue City, Grab Vietnam officially launched a trial of its Grab pedicab service in the city, in coordination with the Department of Construction, the Department of Tourism, the Institute for Hue City Development Research, and the Hue Ancient Capital Preservation Center.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, shared that the Grab pedicab service not only offers a familiar means of transportation that is intimately tied to the memories and image of Hue, but it is now also infused with a technological element. This innovation allows tourists to conveniently book the service and enjoy hassle-free digital payments.

Additionally, this service presents new livelihood opportunities for pedicab drivers, aligning with the digital transformation trend of the times.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Director of Market Development at Grab Vietnam, stated that Hue is the only locality where Grab operates this unique service. This initiative aims to tailor our products to the local market while also offering livelihood opportunities to local workers through digital transformation.

Grab brings convenience and charm to your travels in Hue

During the trial phase, the Grab pedicab service will accommodate a maximum of one passenger, with an initial route of up to 60 minutes, which can be extended upon the passenger’s request. Passengers can book a Grab pedicab through the Grab app and be picked up/dropped off at five locations: four spots within the Imperial Citadel area and one at the Wharf of the Supreme Court.

Following the trial period, Grab Vietnam will continue to collaborate with local authorities to explore expanding the pickup/drop-off points for the Grab pedicab service, offering passengers a wider range of options and ensuring a seamless experience for their sightseeing and exploration journeys.

Previously, in February 2025, Hue City and Grab Vietnam signed a three-year cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in the fields of transportation and tourism, as well as to support local businesses, traders, and residents in enhancing their digital skills.
