According to a report by the Haiphong City Department of Construction, out of the 80 key projects and constructions inaugurated and launched across 80 nationwide online venues on August 19, 2025, Haiphong accounted for three constructions at three venues.
The main venue of the city is expected to connect with the central government at the inauguration ceremony of May Chai Bridge and the two-sided road leading to Vu Yen Island, which is part of the Eco-Park, Amusement, Residential and Resort Complex Project.

May Chai Bridge, also known as Hoang Gia Bridge, has a total investment of over VND 2,300 billion.
The remaining two venues will connect at the ground-breaking ceremony of the Construction Project of the Resettlement Area for the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Haiphong Railway Project (in Duong Kinh Ward) and the Construction Project of Terminal T2 – Cat Bi International Airport.
In addition, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the city plans to launch and inaugurate several other key projects and constructions.
Specifically, investing in the construction of a bridge crossing the Thai Binh River and the connecting road of Haiduong City’s Belt Road I (from provincial road 391 to provincial road 390C); building a Martyrs’ Temple and a Cultural Park in the western area of the city; bypassing National Highway 37 through the old Gia Loc town; the road connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge (Kinh Mon town); inaugurating the Hai Duong Provincial Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Phase II (inpatient treatment and comprehensive service block); inaugurating the Dong Viet Bridge connecting to National Highway 37, Haiphong City, invested by the Project Management Board of Western Haiphong Construction Investment.
Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau asked the Department of Construction to continue coordinating with the Ministry of Construction and the Government Office to implement the approved plan; take the lead in building plans and scripts for the organization of groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for the city’s key projects and constructions on this occasion, ensuring appropriate communication and coherence with the national program.
Since July 1, 2025, after the merger, the new Haiphong city has an area of nearly 3,200 km2, a population of over 4.6 million, and the third largest economic scale in the country.
