The financial reports for the first half of 2025 have been released by the Southern region’s lottery companies, revealing impressive growth with revenue reaching approximately 75,877 billion VND, a 9.09% increase compared to the same period last year.

Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company consistently leads in revenue and profits. In the first half of this year, their revenue exceeded 7,027 billion VND, an increase of nearly 700 billion VND compared to 2024. The company’s post-tax profit stood at nearly 754 billion VND.

Compared to the beginning of the year, the salaries for management and staff at this company have been reduced by almost half. Management salaries decreased from over 3.2 billion VND on January 1, 2025, to nearly 1.72 billion VND by June 30, 2025. Staff salaries also saw a reduction from over 30.7 billion VND to over 17.4 billion VND during the same period.

The lottery companies in the remaining 20 provinces and cities reported similar revenues, ranging from around 3,200 billion VND with post-tax profits of 350-500 billion VND.

Following Ho Chi Minh City in terms of revenue is Tay Ninh Lottery Company, with 3,529 billion VND in revenue, achieving over 50% of their annual plan and a 9.33% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Their profit reached nearly 600 billion VND.

Tra Vinh Lottery Company comes in third with a revenue of 3,270 billion VND in the first six months of this year, an increase of almost 10% from the previous year. However, their post-tax profit slightly decreased to over 333.5 billion VND compared to nearly 361 billion VND in 2024.

Kien Giang Lottery Company also reported impressive figures with a revenue of over 3,217 billion VND in the first half of the year, an increase of nearly 300 billion VND compared to the same period last year. Their post-tax profit stood at nearly 367 billion VND.

Dong Nai Lottery Company’s financial report for the first half of 2025 showed a revenue of over 3,213 billion VND and a post-tax profit of over 406 billion VND. Notably, as of June 30, Dong Nai Lottery Company had nearly 1,200 billion VND in short-term deposits in banks with interest rates ranging from 4% to 5.8%.

Binh Duong Lottery Company also had a successful first half, with a revenue of nearly 3,200 billion VND and a post-tax profit of over 384 billion VND.

Vinh Long Lottery Company contributed over 3,198 billion VND in revenue and achieved a post-tax profit of over 368 billion VND. Their balance sheet also showed short-term debt of over 988 billion VND, mainly due to advance payments from customers.

Dong Thap Lottery Company recorded a similar revenue of over 3,197 billion VND and a post-tax profit of nearly 398 billion VND.

Can Tho Lottery Company’s revenue for the first half of 2025 exceeded 3,184 billion VND. Despite high revenue, their profit after tax stood at nearly 348 billion VND due to increased business expenses compared to the previous year.

Long An Lottery Company also witnessed significant growth, with a revenue of over 3,181 billion VND in the first half of 2025, an increase of nearly 300 billion VND compared to the same period last year. Notably, their post-tax profit surged by nearly 150 billion VND to over 505 billion VND.

The issuance schedule of lottery companies will change from the beginning of 2026.

Ben Tre Lottery Company reported a slight increase in revenue to over 3,081 billion VND, but their post-tax profit decreased by over 20 billion VND to more than 325 billion VND. Ba Ria-Vung Tau Lottery Company, on the other hand, achieved a revenue of 3,078 billion VND with a post-tax profit of 416 billion VND.

Bac Lieu Lottery Company’s revenue for the first half of the year exceeded 3,063 billion VND, an increase of over 154 billion VND compared to the same period last year. However, their post-tax profit stood at over 316 billion VND, slightly lower than the mid-term figure of 2024, mainly due to increased business expenses.

Soc Trang Lottery Company reported the lowest revenue for the first half of 2025, with over 2,766 billion VND, but their post-tax profit exceeded 357 billion VND…

With the significant increase in revenue, the payout ratios of the lottery companies are also substantial, exceeding 50%. Most of the Southern region’s lottery companies spent around 1,700 billion VND on prize payouts during this period. Tra Vinh Lottery Company had the highest payout, exceeding 1,765 billion VND in the first half of the year.

Vinh Long Lottery Company allocated 1,721 billion VND for prize payouts during the same period. Binh Duong Lottery Company paid out more than 1,720 billion VND in prizes, while Kien Giang Lottery Company’s payout stood at 1,714 billion VND.

Despite having a revenue of less than 3,100 billion VND, Bac Lieu Lottery Company’s total payout for the first half of the year was over 1,703 billion VND. Ben Tre Lottery Company also allocated over 1,705 billion VND for prize payouts, while Dong Nai Lottery Company’s payout amounted to over 1,706 billion VND.

Can Tho Lottery Company paid out 1,702 billion VND in prizes, while Long An Lottery Company’s payout stood at 1,687 billion VND. Dong Thap Lottery Company’s payout was over 1,644 billion VND… The total payout of the 21 Southern lottery companies exceeded 37,100 billion VND.

At the Ministry of Finance’s regular press conference for the second quarter, held on July 2, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Institutions, stated that from July 1, 2025, to the end of the year, lottery companies in provinces and cities that are subject to merger will be handed over intact to the new province or city formed after the merger.

However, to ensure the stability of the previously approved business plans and to avoid issues with already printed lottery tickets, the issuance schedule will remain unchanged until the end of 2025.

Starting January 1, 2026, the Ministry of Finance will provide specific guidance to the provinces and cities regarding the merger of lottery companies under their jurisdiction and will issue a new issuance schedule accordingly.
