Bamboo Airways JSC announces that its Board of Directors (BOD) has accepted the resignations of Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh, Chairman of the BOD, and Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, CEO, effective August 13th. The resignations of both leaders are due to personal reasons.

To ensure smooth and stable operations, the Bamboo Airways BOD has passed a resolution to elect and appoint new leaders.

Accordingly, Mr. Le Thai Sam has been appointed as the new Chairman of the BOD , replacing Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh, and Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh has taken on the role of CEO , succeeding Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, effective August 13th.

Mr. Le Thai Sam, born in 1964 in Quang Ngai, graduated from the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City in 1986. He has held leadership positions in several large enterprises, including DIC Investment and Trading JSC and Cuu Long Steel JSC.

Mr. Sam joined Bamboo Airways in 2022 and quickly became the largest shareholder of the airline. Prior to that, he was a major creditor, lending the company more than VND 7,700 billion in principal and interest. This debt was later converted into shares held by him.

He previously served as Chairman of the BOD from July 2023 to February 2024 and then took on the role of Vice Chairman of the BOD. During his time with the company, he actively contributed important ideas and solutions to governance and operations, especially during the airline’s transformation and comprehensive restructuring phase.

Bamboo Airways assures that its operations and exploitation remain continuous, stable, and as planned.

Currently, the airline has discontinued the operation of wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and regional jet Embraer E190 aircraft. The entire fleet has been standardized to Airbus A320/321 aircraft. This move aims to optimize maintenance, material, and spare part costs, as well as training and human resource utilization costs, including pilots and flight attendants.

Most of the regular international routes have been temporarily suspended. Instead, the airline focuses its resources on high-demand domestic trunk routes connecting key economic centers such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang. Additionally, Bamboo Airways operates charter flights to select international markets with high seasonal demand.
