A 6,000 sqm plot of land, formerly the site of the abandoned Song Nhue Hotel, has been selected for a pilot program to construct commercial housing on different types of land in Hanoi. The investor, Song Nhue Tourism Hotel Joint Stock Company (Song Nhue Company), plans to develop a high-rise complex named Oriental Legend Ha Dong on this site, with a total investment of over VND 2,400 billion in the 2025–2030 period.

Prime location on Tran Phu Street.

The project’s location is considered prime real estate, with its main frontage on Tran Phu Street, the southwestern gateway to the capital. It is just 300 meters from Van Quan Station (metro line 2A). The plot is bordered on the northeast by the Anh Quan Strong Group’s Tower for Businessmen and on the southwest by Thanh Binh Street, which runs along the Song Nhue River.

Established in 2007, Song Nhue Company, with Ms. Nguyen Thuy Loan as its legal representative, mainly operates in the field of short-term accommodation services. The company is related to the Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank), currently holding over 111.6 million SSB shares (a 3.924% stake). Mr. Fergus Macdonald Clark, an independent member of SeABank’s Board of Directors, along with Ms. Nguyen Thuy Loan, represents Song Nhue Company’s capital contribution to the bank.

The hotel has been abandoned for years, as seen in this current state photo.

The current state of the Song Nhue Hotel land shows significant deterioration after years of abandonment: peeling walls, broken glass, and overgrown weeds. A portion of the first floor and two corners on the east and west sides have been utilized for leasing, while the side facing Thanh Binh Street is used by SeABank’s Ha Dong branch.
