The Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Transportation Infrastructure Construction Projects (Transportation Authority) has announced plans for multiple construction projects to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

On August 19, 2025, the Transportation Authority will simultaneously launch three major initiatives. Firstly, they will commence the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Highway with a contract for bomb disposal and infrastructure relocation. This marks a significant step towards the development of a highway longer than 50 km, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh province, thereby reducing congestion on National Highway 22 and boosting trade through the Moc Bai border gate.

On the same day, the city will break ground on the Den Junction Project, an intersection between National Highway 1 and Nguyen Van Qua Street. This project entails an investment of approximately VND 400 billion and includes a concrete bridge spanning over 430 meters, along with road collection systems, lighting, drainage, and greenery.

Also, on the morning of August 19, there will be a ceremony to open Phase 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway’s connection to Nhon Trach Bridge (under the XL1 package of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 project), in coordination with the opening of Nhon Trach Bridge, presided over by the Ministry of Construction.

In September and October 2025, the city plans to commence several other significant transportation projects, including the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, the construction of Sections 1 and 2 of Ring Road 2, and various other critical infrastructure projects. Notably, the Thuy Van Road beautification project in the former Vung Tau province, spanning 3.2 km with an investment of over VND 1,000 billion, will also be inaugurated during this period, giving a new face to the coastal road and promoting both transportation and tourism.
