While the industry-wide on-time performance rate has decreased compared to the same period last year, reaching 62.7%, there are notable variations among airlines. Bamboo Airways takes the lead with an impressive 80.1% on-time performance, followed by Pacific Airlines and VASCO, with 79.2% and 79.1%, respectively. Vietnam Airlines maintained a 70% on-time rate, while Vietravel Airlines reached 68.5%. Vietjet Air recorded the lowest on-time performance at 51.6%.

In terms of flight cancellations, the domestic aviation industry recorded 1,097 canceled flights, or 0.7% of total flights, in the first seven months of 2025, a 0.3 percentage point increase from the previous year. Bamboo Airways had the lowest cancellation rate at 0.1%, followed by Vietjet Air at 0.6%, which is below the industry average. Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vietravel Airlines reported cancellation rates of 0.8%, 0.9%, and 1.2%, respectively, while VASCO had the highest cancellation rate at 1.4%.

With the upcoming major holiday celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, a significant increase in both international and domestic passenger traffic is expected at Noi Bai International Airport. The peak day is estimated to see nearly 110,000 passengers and 638 flights, a 20% increase compared to 2024. The airport has proactively planned and coordinated with airlines to optimize their operations during this busy period.

Similarly, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has arranged for domestic airlines to utilize Terminal 3 to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the Grand Holiday while reducing congestion at the existing Terminal 1.
