In the afternoon of August 14th, according to information from the Da Nang City Portal, the Municipal Party Committee Standing Board had a working session with THACO Group.

According to the report at the meeting, four out of six enterprises in the THACO ecosystem are operating in Da Nang, with a total investment of over 4 billion USD.

Impressively, in the first seven months of 2025, the enterprises of billionaire Tran Ba Duong contributed nearly 7,000 billion VND to the state budget. The target for the whole year is set at about 20,000 billion VND, indicating a strong growth momentum in the last months of the year.

In the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, THACO is implementing five large-scale projects with a total investment of thousands of billions of VND, which are expected to create a driving force for the development of industry, urban areas, and inter-regional transportation in Central Vietnam.

Among these projects, the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park, spanning 451 hectares with an investment of 2,095 billion VND, has made considerable progress in site clearance, having completed 95.2% of the task, of which 86.5% of the area has been handed over. The N2 route is expected to be completed by October 2025.

The expanded 115-hectare automotive mechanical industrial park, with an investment of 1,347 billion VND, has been approved for investment and its environmental impact assessment has been completed. The project is expected to commence in September 2025 and be completed by 2027.

Notably, the Cua Lo Channel project, including a bridge connecting Tam Hiep and Tam Hoa ports and a road connecting the Vietnam-Korea Industrial Park with Vo Chi Cong Street, with a total investment of 8,574 billion VND, is awaiting the issuance of a government decree for implementation. This project is expected to commence in February 2026 and become operational by June 2027.

The highlight of the working session was the anticipation of THACO’s involvement in the Da Nang – Hoi An – Chu Lai urban railway project. This project, with a length of 100km and a total investment of approximately 126,684 billion VND, is planned to be implemented in two phases.

Upon completion, the system, comprising a main line over 94km in length and a 6.5km branch line, will revolutionize regional transportation, reducing travel time from Da Nang to Hoi An to 20 minutes and to Chu Lai to about 40 minutes.

Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, affirmed that THACO is a key corporation in the city’s industrial development, playing a pivotal role in attracting enterprises to the industrial ecosystem, especially in the southern region, with a focus on heavy industry and auxiliary industries.

He set an ambitious goal, requesting THACO to contribute a minimum of 25,000 billion VND annually to the state budget in the next two years. This impressive figure showcases the local leadership’s strong belief in the group’s potential.

Since its establishment, THACO has contributed more than 231,000 billion VND to the state budget, and in 2025 alone, it is expected to contribute over 19,500 billion VND. Additionally, the group provides employment opportunities for tens of thousands of local workers and plays a significant role in infrastructure development.

Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO Group, expressed his appreciation for being considered a strategic investor in Da Nang. He affirmed the group’s determination to develop THACO into a leading multinational industrial manufacturing corporation based in the city.

At the same time, he agreed on a logistics coordination plan between Chu Lai Port and Lien Chieu Port to enhance connectivity and create a comprehensive logistics system that serves the economic development of the region.

THACO’s projects not only generate economic value but also contribute to realizing the government-approved development orientation for the 2025-2030 period, fostering robust infrastructure development and promoting the comprehensive advancement of the Central Coastal Region.
