The Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee recently had a working session with Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO).

According to reports, THACO is currently in charge of several large-scale projects in Da Nang City. These are key projects for the city, promising to create a strong impetus for the development of industry, urban areas, and inter-regional transportation in Central Vietnam.

First is the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park project with an area of over 450 hectares and a total investment of nearly VND 2,100 billion. The project has completed about 95% of site clearance, and the construction of the N2 road is expected to be finished by October 2025.

Next is the expanded automobile mechanics industrial park project with an area of 115 hectares and a total investment of approximately VND 1,350 billion. The project has received investment approval and an environmental impact assessment approval. THACO aims to commence construction in September 2025 and complete the infrastructure by 2027.

The Cu Lo Channel, the bridge connecting Tam Hiep – Tam Hoa, and the road connecting Vietnam-Korea Industrial Park with Vo Chi Cong Street have a total investment of over VND 8,500 billion (in the form of a PPP – BT contract). In terms of progress, the project is awaiting the government’s decree to implement it through the appointment of an investor, with construction expected to start in February 2026 and be operational by June 2027.

In parallel, there are large urban projects such as the Chu Lai Urban Area with an area of 188 hectares and a total investment of over VND 12,900 billion; and the Tam Hoa – Tam Tien urban residential, service, and tourism area in phase 2 with an area of over 1,000 hectares. This project is currently in the preparation stage for investor selection through bidding, with construction planned to start from 2026-2027.

Notably, Da Nang City is promoting the Da Nang – Hoi An – Chu Lai urban railway project with a total length of over 100 km and a total investment of nearly VND 126,700 billion, divided into two phases.

Upon completion, the main line of over 94 km and the 6.5 km branch line will reduce travel time from Da Nang to Hoi An to just 20 minutes, and to Chu Lai in about 40 minutes.

At the working session, the leadership of Da Nang City requested that related departments and local authorities coordinate to promptly resolve site clearance issues and other investment procedures to facilitate the investor’s project implementation. By October 2025, site clearance must be completed for THACO’s key projects.

At the same time, THACO was requested to aim for a contribution to the state budget of VND 25,000 billion or more over the next two years. They were also invited to invest in the Da Nang – Hoi An and Da Nang – Chu Lai urban railway projects, which are strategic projects for the 2025-2030 period.

THACO is known as a multi-sector corporation, playing an important role in developing Da Nang City’s industrial ecosystem. THACO operates in six core sectors: automobiles, agriculture, mechanics and supporting industries, investment and construction, trade and services, and logistics.
