The State Bank of Vietnam’s Information Technology Department has issued a warning regarding the discovery of fake websites impersonating the official portal of the State Bank. These websites, https://sbvhn[.]com and https://state-bank[.]vercel[.]app, are designed to deceive users and distribute malicious APK files. The malware embedded in these files can compromise mobile security measures, allowing fraudsters to steal personal and banking information. The State Bank emphasizes that their official website is https://sbv.gov.vn, and urges users to refrain from accessing unfamiliar or suspicious sites and to only download applications from official app stores.

Additionally, there have been reports of fraudsters impersonating Techcombank, using forged documents and signatures to trick victims into providing their account and card information. It is crucial that users remain vigilant, avoid suspicious links, and never disclose their personal or financial details to unverified sources.

Not only Techcombank and Vietcombank, but even the State Bank of Vietnam has been targeted by scammers creating fake websites to inject malware.

The situation underscores the ongoing challenges faced by commercial banks in combating fraud and safeguarding customer information.
