According to the My Thuan Project Management Unit, Component Project 1A of the Tan Van – Nhon Trach Phase 1 construction investment project is a section of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3. This 8.14-km route starts at the intersection with DT.25B road (Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province) and ends at the intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Day Expressway (Long Truong ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The project is set to be inaugurated on August 19 and officially opened to traffic from 7 am on August 20.

Based on the suggestions of relevant units on the traffic organization plan, the My Thuan Project Management Unit instructed the design consultant to finalize the documents, and the Unit approved the traffic organization plan within the project’s scope.

Specifically, in Phase 1 (from now until the completion of Component Projects 1 and 3, expected by the end of 2026), the section from DT.25B (Dong Nai) to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Day Expressway (HLD) will be operated as a regular automobile road, allowing both cars and motorcycles.

On the Dong Nai side, there will be two lanes for cars and two mixed lanes from DT.25B to Nhon Trach Bridge, with motorcycles allowed only up to Ly Tu Trong Road. The three flat intersections will be regulated by signs and traffic lights. In Ho Chi Minh City, cars from the Nhon Trach Bridge will connect to the HLD Expressway intersection.

Along the entire Component Project 1A route, trucks over 1.5 tons and buses over 16 seats are prohibited due to the incomplete toll station at the HLD intersection.

In Phase 2 (expected from the end of 2026), the entire route will be operated as a highway with four vehicle lanes in the core section and parallel roads for mixed traffic. The Nhon Trach Bridge will accommodate mixed traffic, including two vehicle lanes, two mixed lanes, and a dividing barrier.

To ensure traffic safety and prevent congestion during the initial operation of Component Project 1A (Tan Van – Nhon Trach section of Ring Road 3), the My Thuan Project Management Unit requested coordination from relevant authorities in organizing traffic control and guidance for vehicles along the route according to the installed signaling system.

Additionally, they emphasized the need for enhanced patrol and control measures to ensure that vehicles comply with the specified types, range, and speed limits.

These measures aim to guarantee the safety and smoothness of the initial operation, minimize traffic accidents and conflicts on the route and in surrounding areas, and ensure a seamless travel experience for commuters.

Component Project 1A (Tan Van – Nhon Trach section) of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 is over 8 km long and includes the Nhon Trach Bridge over the Dong Nai River, approach roads on both sides, two flyovers, intersections, collector roads, toll stations, and lighting systems.

The route has a cross-section of four vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes, designed for a speed of 80 km/h. It connects Dong Nai’s provincial road 25B to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Day Expressway in the former Thu Duc city area. This project shortens the travel time from Nhon Trach to Ho Chi Minh City, reduces traffic on the HLD Expressway, and boosts regional development.

The Nhon Trach Bridge is the largest bridge in the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. Spanning nearly 2.6 km and approximately 20.5 m wide, it accommodates four vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes, designed for a speed of 80 km/h, with a navigational height of 30.5 m.

Upon its opening, the bridge will reduce traffic pressure on the HLD Expressway, providing flexible connectivity and enhancing inter-regional travel efficiency.
