The new Political – Administrative Center of Dong Nai province is set to break ground on September 2nd. With a total area of 105 hectares, the project is expected to form a modern urban space, harmonizing with the scenery along the Dong Nai River.

The project has an initial total investment of approximately VND 8,600 billion. This includes an initial investment of about VND 6,800 billion for administrative buildings, VND 576 billion for a convention center, and over VND 1,200 billion for infrastructure and squares.

Notably, the new Dong Nai Political-Administrative Center is being constructed on the site of the Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1. This was the country’s first industrial park, established in 1963, and currently houses over 70 operating businesses.

However, the area has deteriorated and no longer meets development requirements. The project has been removed from the planning to convert its function to urban, commercial, service, and administrative uses. All enterprises in Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1 must complete their relocation by the end of 2025.

As of early August, the locality had about 129 hectares of cleared land (out of the total 329 hectares to be recovered from the industrial park). Many units have proactively dismantled and relocated their workshops to make way for the project.

On August 17th, some businesses were still in the process of dismantling equipment and relocating machinery to facilitate land leveling and clearance.

According to Mr. Tam, a local resident, “We hope that after the relocation, this area will become a modern, cleaner urban center with more amenities to serve the people.”

The site of the new Political-Administrative Center is just a few hundred meters from the Dong Nai River, located next to National Highway 1A, opposite Pho Island and Tan Van Island. This area boasts a series of large-scale projects, including the VND 72,000 billion project by Sun Group, the VND 6,000 billion AEON Mall Bien Hoa trade center project, and the VND 7,200 billion Kim Quy Island project by TTC Land…

The planned location of the new Dong Nai Political-Administrative Center is about 23 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, within a convenient radius to connect with major airports and seaports. This location is considered a strategic transportation hub, linked to the urban-industrial development axis of the Southeast region.

Moreover, the new Administrative Center is just 2.5 km from the Dong Nai Bridge and 6 km from the Hoa An Bridge, providing direct connections to National Highway 1K to Binh Duong (old route), National Highway 51, and the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway under construction.

In the future, this location can conveniently connect to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4, as well as the Dau Giay – Long Thanh expressway. Notably, it is only 25 km from the Long Thanh International Airport, offering the potential for a “super administrative-urban center” for the entire region.

According to Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, the project to relocate Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1 and build the political-administrative center is a key project that addresses environmental issues while creating a new urban space.
