Honda initially launched the Giorno+ SC35 ThaiGP in March 2025 as a tribute to Thai racer Somkiat Chantra, the first Thai rider to compete in MotoGP. Only 99 units of this model were produced, and the bike featured in this article bears the serial number 68/99.

The limited edition boasts a predominantly white color scheme, accented with red details on the front fender, headlight rim, and footrest area. Somkiat Chantra’s racing number, 35, is prominently displayed on the front of the bike, enhancing its unique identity.

Beyond its striking color scheme, the SC35 ThaiGP edition mirrors the standard model in terms of design, specifications, and features. It showcases a sleek, classic design with smooth curves and a comfortable riding position.

The Giorno+ is packed with modern features, including LED headlights and taillights, an LCD instrument cluster, a Smartkey system, and a front disc brake with ABS technology. The traditional headlight on/off button has been eliminated, and a convenient storage compartment has been added on the left side, complete with a phone holder and an internal charging port.

Its dimensions are equally impressive: a length of 1,902 mm, a width of 683 mm, and a height of 1,144 mm. The seat height is 780 mm, designed with a generous width for added comfort. The under-seat storage compartment offers a capacity of 30 liters, and the bike rides on 12-inch cast wheels with tubeless tires.

Under the sleek exterior lies a powerful eSP+ single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 125cc engine. This advanced powerplant incorporates electronic fuel injection and Idling Stop technology, delivering an impressive 12.5 horsepower at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission, resulting in a fuel efficiency of 52.6 km/l, or less than 2 liters per 100 km.

The Honda Giorno+ directly competes with its fellow Japanese counterparts, the Yamaha Grande and the Suzuki Saluto. In Thailand, the Giorno+ SC35 ThaiGP is priced at 74,400 baht (approximately 60 million VND). The selling price in Vietnam has not yet been disclosed by the importing dealer, as the bike is currently undergoing registration. However, for reference, a used Honda Giorno+ was once sold for over 60 million VND, while a new unit of a different variant was offered at a price in the hundreds of millions.

The Honda Giorno+ Moto2 ThaiGP, featuring the signature of Somkiat Chantra, is a true collector’s item.

Prior to the SC35 ThaiGP, the dealer also imported two other special editions of the Giorno+: the Disney Fantasia 85 Years (limited to 2,000 units) and the Moto2 ThaiGP (limited to 35 units). Notably, one of the Moto2 ThaiGP units bears the signature of Somkiat Chantra, making it an even more exclusive collector’s item.
