Crafting a Better Future: Serving the People, Always.

On August 19, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge was officially opened to traffic, connecting Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces on National Highway 60. The main bridge is 1.97 km long and features four lanes, along with 15.15 km of approach roads. This new infrastructure serves as a "runway" for regional economic development and is expected to significantly reduce congestion on the original Rach Mieu Bridge, which often experiences heavy traffic during holidays and festive seasons.

The much-anticipated Nhon Trach Bridge was inaugurated, marking a significant milestone for the people and connecting two provinces: Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. This bridge is the largest component of the Tan Van – Nhon Trach route, which is part of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3. Its completion not only unites the two banks of the Dong Nai River but also unlocks the economic potential of the entire Southeast region.

Meanwhile, several key projects were simultaneously launched across the country. Notably, in the northern region, the Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh is being upgraded to accommodate 5 million passengers annually from 2021 to 2030, with a further increase to 15 million passengers and 1 million tons of cargo by 2050. This 5-star international airport will alleviate pressure on Noi Bai International Airport and boost the economic development of Bac Ninh and the capital region as a whole.

In Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, the Bai Goc Port in Phu Yen and the first component project of the North-South Expressway, the 124.13 km Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, are underway.

The Southern region has transformed into a massive construction site with numerous national and local key projects, including the B-O Mon gas pipeline to Can Tho, the Ca Mau – Cai Nuoc Expressway, the Dat Mui – Hon Khoai Port road, and the Hon Khoai dual-use port.

Ho Chi Minh City had a busy day, witnessing the inauguration of the first 8km section of Ring Road 3, connecting Nhon Trach district in Dong Nai province to Long Truong ward in Ho Chi Minh City. The city also commenced construction on several vital projects: the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway (including bomb disposal and technical infrastructure relocation), the Nga Tu Dinh intersection, and the Ngã Năm Phuoc Kien tunnel.

One of the highlights was the inauguration and unveiling of the Saigon Marina International Financial Centre (Saigon Marina IFC) tower. This landmark not only holds commemorative value but also signifies the beginning of Ho Chi Minh City’s journey towards establishing itself as an international financial center. It embodies the city’s strategy to attract capital and foster regional financial activities.

A glimpse at some of the projects inaugurated and commenced on August 19 (out of a total of 250 projects nationwide) underscores the significance of marking historical events and national holidays with infrastructure developments in transportation, technical fields, civil works, and social welfare projects in both urban and rural areas. These include housing, education, healthcare, and cultural projects, as well as defense-related initiatives. Such endeavors directly cater to the needs and well-being of the people and are, therefore, a prudent and tangible approach to commemorating the country’s significant milestones.

Eighty years after the revolution that led to independence and self-determination for the nation, followed by a prolonged struggle for national liberation and reunification, and then five decades of post-war reconstruction amid challenges, Vietnam has never ceased in its efforts to forge ahead.

As we commemorate and honor the country’s peace, there is no better way to strengthen our economy than by focusing on self-reliance and resilience through projects and initiatives that tangibly benefit the people, businesses, and society as a whole. History and our remembrance of the past should be continued through effective governance and the best possible service to our citizens, ensuring that we step into the future with confidence and a robust endogenous force.

Beyond accolades and praise, the true measure of success lies in improving the lives of our citizens, creating a healthy and equitable business environment, fostering integration and diverse trade relations, and cultivating a safe, civilized, secure, and happy society.

Vietnam, during these historic August days, demonstrates not only a yearning for peace but also a determination to build a peaceful and prosperous nation, where fairness and well-being are fundamental tenets. When citizens can live, work, and thrive in convenience and prosperity in their homeland, we will have achieved the greatest success of any revolution and the ultimate goal of good governance.

As we mark 80 years since the establishment of our nation, we embark on a new chapter in our journey, “flying with the nation in its flight” (as poet Che Lan Vien once wrote)

Among the 250 projects at 80 sites nationwide, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, are those in transportation (59), industry (57), civil and urban works (44), technical infrastructure (36), social housing (22), and many others in agriculture, education, healthcare, and culture and sports. The capital for these projects comes from both the state and socialization, with state capital accounting for about 37%.

These key projects are expected to create a breakthrough in transportation infrastructure, boost socio-economic development, and contribute over 18% to GDP in 2025 and more than 20% in subsequent years.
