The Billionaire’s Electric Dream: VinFast’s Ambitious Plan for 150,000 Motorcycle Swap Stations.

VinFast has just announced the expansion of its green transition incentives nationwide and the implementation of a battery swap model for electric motorcycles. This is one of two major decisions in the third phase of the campaign “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future.”

According to the company, the special green transition incentives – currently applicable in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and An Giang – will be extended to all 34 provinces and cities. Electric car buyers will receive a direct 4% discount on the listed price and enjoy subsidized interest rates for car loans over three years: 3%/year for personal needs and 4%/year for business purposes on the Xanh SM Platform.

For electric motorcycle purchasers, there is an immediate 10% discount on the vehicle price. Additionally, buyers can opt for installment payments of up to 80-90% of the vehicle’s value, with the business group receiving the vehicle immediately without the need for counter-capital. Supplementary benefits include a waiver of registration fees until the end of 2025 and free charging at public stations until mid-2027.

In tandem with the pricing strategy, VinFast plans to deploy a network of 150,000 battery swap stations nationwide for electric motorcycles. The initial phase will see 1,000 stations installed by October 2025, increasing to 50,000 stations by the end of this year, and completing the goal over the next three years. This network is expected to be denser than the gas station system, making it more convenient for users to swap batteries while on the move.

The electric motorcycle lineup will introduce a battery swap version featuring a compartment for two 1.5 kWh/pin removable batteries, swappable at public stations. Users will pay a monthly battery rental fee of 200,000 VND/month/pin, a battery swap fee of 9,000 VND/swap, and a maximum range of 85 km/pin. The first model to launch is the Evo Max (VND 20 million) in October 2025, followed by the Feliz Max (VND 24.9 million), Verox Max (VND 33.9 million), and Drift Max (VND 39.9 million).

VinFast states that customers can still opt for the battery-included version or choose to rent batteries for home charging, depending on their preferences. Offering both options simultaneously aims to provide consumers with a diverse range of choices.

Moreover, the company continues to collaborate on the “Green Festival – Trade-In Gas Vehicles for Green Vehicles” event nationwide, offering incentives of up to VND 100 million for those trading in gas-powered vehicles for the VF 9 electric model.
