Entrepreneur Do Quang Hien also shared the prominent activities of T&T Group and SHB Bank. Proposal for Vietravel Airlines to Collaborate with Bhutan Airlines on New Route

Notably, in the aviation industry, with T&T Group owning Vietravel Airlines, Mr. Do Quang Hien proposed to the King of Bhutan to establish a direct route between Bhutan and Vietnam through collaboration with Bhutan Airlines. Opening a direct flight will not only boost tourism and cargo transportation but also significantly contribute to developing trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries’ peoples and between Bhutan and Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, to leverage the potential of spiritual tourism, T&T Group is investing in critical transportation infrastructure projects, such as the Quang Tri Airport project, in conjunction with Vietravel Airlines, to exploit unique tourism products. This will serve as an essential foundation for enhancing cultural and religious exchanges and expanding cooperation in spiritual tourism.

During the meeting, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan expressed his delight in visiting T&T Group and Vietnam, especially during the celebration of significant events in the country. The King extended his gratitude for the warm reception by the leadership of T&T Group and welcomed, encouraged, and highly appreciated the cooperation proposal from T&T Group. He affirmed that this would be a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the socio-economic development of both nations, thereby fostering the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck also shared his vision for the development of the Awakening City, a new urban project in Bhutan. Given its large scale, the project requires several critical infrastructure components, such as an international airport and a terminal, along with a substantial need for construction materials and equipment. Bhutan aims to strengthen cooperation and seek additional resources and international experience to ensure efficiency and sustainability.

With its extensive experience in developing large-scale real estate projects and promoting green energy sources, T&T Group can share its expertise and expand cooperation in this field. Bhutan is currently the only country in the world to achieve a net-zero emission level, prioritizing green development as a pillar in its growth strategy. This aligns with T&T Group’s steadfast commitment to sustainability, evident in its renewable energy projects, eco-cities, and smart green cities. The shared vision of sustainable development between Bhutan and T&T Group presents extensive collaboration opportunities in infrastructure, construction, energy, and eco-friendly and intelligent urban development, where T&T Group has established its capabilities in Vietnam and internationally.

Additionally, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck emphasized that, alongside its traditional strengths in culture, the environment, and spiritual tourism, Bhutan also focuses on new economic growth drivers, notably digital assets. Vietnam has enacted the Law on Digital Technology Industry, and it is preparing the necessary legal framework for the deployment of digital asset exchanges. T&T Group and SHB Bank, as leading entities in Vietnam with robust financial capabilities, diverse industry experience, and a particular interest in this field, are well-positioned not only to participate but also to establish a foundation for expanded cooperation and the implementation of large-scale projects in the future.
