On the morning of August 19th, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Da Nang for the Da Nang Downtown project, a high-end cultural, entertainment, and commercial park. The project boasts a total investment of nearly VND79,790 billion and covers an area of over 76.9 hectares, located on the site of the former Asia Park in Hoa Cuong Ward.

With a prime location on the Han River, between Tran Thi Ly and Tien Son bridges, the project is envisioned as the city’s new “fireworks stage.”

As per the master plan, this destination will offer world-class entertainment, shopping, and recreational experiences, including a cultural park, a 4,000-seat theater, a museum, an exhibition center, a commercial and service area, and a night economic zone.

The project’s highlight is a 69-story tower, standing at 408 meters tall, which will become Vietnam’s second-tallest building upon completion, after Ho Chi Minh City’s Landmark 81.

The tower’s design draws inspiration from the five elements, with its body resembling a white ao dai—a traditional Vietnamese dress—and its peak featuring an exhibition space in the shape of a flame, with a crescent-shaped opening for sunlight to pass through like a “lighthouse” guiding the way.

Integrating a range of amenities, including a 5-star hotel, Grade A offices, premium apartments, a commercial center, restaurants, bars, an observation deck, and conference and event spaces, the tower is expected to become a new architectural icon of Central Vietnam.

Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, emphasized that following the merger with Quang Nam province, Da Nang has become the largest city under the Central Government in Vietnam, with two breakthrough development plans: the country’s first free trade zone and an international financial center.

“Da Nang Downtown is born at the right time, opening up new development opportunities, enhancing the competitiveness of the economy, and affirming Da Nang’s position as a city worth visiting, living in, and investing in,” said Mr. Minh.
