The authorities of Thai Nguyen province recently chaired a meeting with departments, units, and local authorities to review the progress of compensation, site clearance, support, and resettlement for two industrial park projects, including the Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park project.

According to reports, over 149.5 hectares of land in Pho Yen ward, more than 84 hectares in Van Xuan ward, and over 65 hectares in Diem Thuy commune will be reclaimed for the project. The site clearance process affects more than 1,400 households.

Currently, units are coordinating to conduct surveys and inventories, but there are still nearly 174 hectares of land left uninspected. Residents whose land is subject to reclamation have requested the arrangement of resettlement areas and the announcement of plans before proceeding with the declaration and inventory.

The Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park investment and infrastructure construction project was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee in April 2025, spanning an area of nearly 300 hectares. The project was inaugurated on August 19.

With a total investment of VND 3,650 billion (including VND 565 billion in investor capital and VND 3,085 billion in mobilized capital), the Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park is developed by Yen Binh Development and Investment Joint Stock Company. The project is located in Van Xuan, Pho Yen wards, and Diem Thuy commune (formerly of Pho Yen town and Phu Binh district), covering an area of nearly 300 hectares.

The project aims to invest in the construction and business of industrial park infrastructure and provide related services. It has a duration of 50 years from the date of approval of the investment policy and a construction period of no more than 24 months from the date of land handover.

Strategically located, Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park benefits from a modern transportation system and convenient regional connectivity. It provides easy access to the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen expressway and quickly connects to major routes such as National Highways 18, 1, and 5.

Upon completion, the Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park is expected to attract investors to Thai Nguyen, thereby promoting socio-economic development.

During the meeting, representatives of departments, sectors, and localities discussed the challenges faced in the site clearance process, including land origin determination, compensation rates, and resettlement area implementation. They also proposed solutions to expedite the project’s progress.

Concluding the meeting, the Provincial People’s Committee directed the investor to coordinate closely with local authorities and departments to accelerate site clearance and resettlement arrangement while promoting the potential of industrial parks to attract investors.

The Provincial Land Development Center was assigned to continue coordinating with localities to determine land prices, origins, and resettlement needs of people in the project area, forming the basis for concentrated resettlement area construction.

Based on the resettlement demand, localities need to coordinate with departments and sectors to identify suitable land funds, preventing the situation of building resettlement areas that remain unoccupied.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment was assigned to coordinate and guide land-related procedures, regularly monitoring and resolving difficulties and problems.

The Department of Construction will support localities in developing detailed plans for resettlement areas, determining the necessity and infrastructure investment for the projects.

Thai Nguyen province currently has about 19 industrial parks, covering a total area of over 6,400 hectares.

In the first half of 2025, enterprises in Thai Nguyen’s industrial parks achieved a total revenue of about USD 16 billion and VND 390 billion from the domestic market. Export turnover was estimated at over USD 14 billion, contributing VND 3,400 billion to the state budget.

Additionally, over 9,200 new jobs were created, contributing to social security and improving the quality of life for the province’s residents.
