The Tam Giang Bridge project, with a total investment of over VND 151 billion, was approved for feasibility study on October 29, 2015. The bridge is designed to be 210.5 meters long, consisting of 4 pillars, 2 abutments, 5 Super T spans, and a 469.5-meter-long access road on both sides.
According to the Quang Nam Investment and Construction Management Board, the project began in April 2017, with construction and compensation for site clearance happening simultaneously. However, the site clearance process encountered numerous difficulties and obstacles, causing interruptions and delays over the years.

Tam Giang Bridge Project
Currently, the bridge construction is almost complete, with only the concrete pavement, lighting installation, and access road remaining.
The project requires approximately 10,000 cubic meters of fill soil, but the local shortage of soil has significantly impacted the construction of the access road. Additionally, after the dissolution of the district-level administration, the project was transferred to the Quang Nam Project Management Unit. However, competent authorities have not reassigned the capital, causing difficulties in project implementation.
Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung directed to resolve the obstacles and set a final deadline for the project. He instructed the Department of Finance to allocate funds to ensure the project’s completion by 2025. The Department of Construction is to provide guidance on handling filling materials…
“I require that the entire line be completed by November 2025 and put into use to meet the travel needs of the people,” said Mr. Hung.

Tam Tien Bridge Project
Regarding the Tam Tien Bridge and access road project, the Da Nang city leadership requested a definitive solution to the existing obstacles.
According to reports, the Tam Tien Bridge and access road project, with a total investment of VND 220 billion and a total length of 4.18 km, was approved by the former Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee in May 2019.
The construction began in December 2020, but the site clearance process faced significant challenges and interruptions, resulting in only about 45% of the contract volume being completed. The project still requires approximately 150,000 cubic meters of fill soil, which is currently unavailable due to local shortages.
Vice Chairman Tran Nam Hung directed that regarding the filling soil for the Tam Tien Bridge, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Tam Xuan People’s Committee, and related units should facilitate the bidding and auction processes to enable the contractor to access the materials soon.
“It is agreed to hand over the entire line to the construction unit, committing to provide a cleared site by 2025 for the implementation of the Tam Tien Bridge project. The Land Development Center and the People’s Committee of Tam Xuan are assigned to organize the site clearance and report progress every 2 weeks to me for further handling,” emphasized Mr. Hung.
