On August 23, 2025, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen signed Document No. 4761/UBND-DT on exempting public transport fares (bus and urban railway) for people and tourists during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2025.

Accordingly, the city agreed to exempt public transport fares (bus and urban railway) for people and tourists during the National Day holiday of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025) from August 30, 2025, to September 2, 2025.

The City People’s Committee assigned the Department of Construction to direct and coordinate with the Hanoi Transport Management and Operation Center, units providing public passenger transport services by bus with subsidies, and Hanoi Railway Limited Company to implement plans to ensure safety, meaningfulness, and effectiveness. They should also meet the travel needs of the people and tourists, monitor passenger volume, and promptly adjust the frequency, number of trips, and operating time to serve the people and tourists in case of increased travel demand. These units are responsible for controlling and ensuring the accuracy of the number of free tickets for settlement and finalization of subsidized funds according to regulations.

The Department of Finance was assigned to base on its functions and tasks to synthesize and advise on the source of subsidized funds and report to the competent authority for approval.

The Departments of Culture and Sports, Tourism, and Science and Technology; and the People’s Committees of wards and communes were requested to strengthen propaganda and information about traffic diversion plans, parking lots, bus route operation plans, and the public passenger transport network connecting to tourist attractions and events in the capital so that people and tourists can know and participate.
