According to the Twitter account AppleLeaker, a notification reading “Apple Event 09/09/2025” briefly appeared in the search section of the Apple TV+ app, causing a stir in the tech community.
Interestingly, September 9 aligns with previous rumors about the iPhone 17 launch event. Notably, Apple has chosen this date multiple times in the past, including for the iPhone 16 in 2024 and the iPhone 6s in 2015. Apple has not yet commented on this incident.

Prior to this, German telecom providers also revealed to iPhone Ticker that they had been informed about an event taking place on Tuesday, September 9. Meanwhile, AppleInsider suggested that Apple would avoid hosting the event on September 11, a day of remembrance for the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks in the US. Following the usual schedule, Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 17 on September 9, open pre-orders on September 10, and officially release it on September 19.
September 19 is expected to be the global launch date for the iPhone 17, including in Vietnam. In recent years, Vietnam has consistently been among the first markets to receive new iPhone models, usually just a week after the initial launch group. Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 witnessed explosive sales, with many retailers reporting revenue exceeding thousands of billions of VND on the first day of sales, effectively ending the trend of buying smuggled phones.
This year’s iPhone lineup will consist of four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the new iPhone 17 Air. This is the first time Apple is using the “Air” moniker instead of “Plus,” aiming to emphasize the device’s lightweight design and create a unique position in the market. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, a large-screen model priced between $899 and $950.
If the information leaked from Apple TV+ is accurate, the iPhone 17 will continue the tradition of September launches and will undoubtedly be the focal point of the global tech industry in the coming weeks.
