Vietnam’s Top 20 Stock Market Billionaires See an Aggregate Wealth Increase of VND 85.7 Trillion

Vietnam’s Stock Market Billionaires

As of August 22, 2025, the combined wealth of Vietnam’s top 20 stock market billionaires reached VND 634.1 trillion, marking an impressive increase of VND 85.7 trillion since the beginning of the month.

Leading the pack is Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, with a staggering wealth of VND 278.7 trillion, reflecting a VND 45.1 trillion surge compared to the start of August. Over the past three weeks, Mr. Vuong’s wealth has grown by 19%, solidifying his top position on the ranking.

Notably, Mr. Vuong is accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Pham Thu Huong, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Pham Thuy Hang, in the top 10. Mrs. Huong, ranked 7th, holds a fortune of VND 21.1 trillion, while Mrs. Hang, ranked 9th, boasts VND 14.1 trillion. Both women currently serve as Vice Chairwomen of Vingroup’s Board of Directors.

In second place, Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat Group, possesses a wealth of VND 51.5 trillion, witnessing a modest increase of VND 1.7 trillion or 3% since the beginning of the month. Mr. Long’s wife, Mrs. Vu Thi Hien, also makes the top 10 with a substantial fortune of VND 13.7 trillion.

The past week saw a significant surge in the wealth of individuals holding VPBank (VPB) stocks, thanks to the strong performance of the bank’s shares. Notably, four individuals associated with VPBank entered the top 20 richest people on Vietnam’s stock market.

Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of VPBank, saw his wealth climb by 39% to reach VND 11.8 trillion. Mrs. Hoang Anh Minh, Mr. Dung’s wife, and Mrs. Vu Thi Quyen, his mother, both hold fortunes of VND 11.7 trillion.

Mrs. Kim Ngoc Cam Ly, wife of Mr. Bui Hai Quan, Vice Chairman of VPBank, also experienced a remarkable 39% increase in her wealth, bringing her total to VND 10.3 trillion.

On the other hand, the individual with the most significant decrease in wealth was Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, who saw a 7% decline since the beginning of the month, equivalent to VND 900 billion. Mr. Binh’s wealth further dipped by VND 300 billion in the past week.
