Mr. Duong Anh Duc Appointed as Head of Propaganda and Public Relations for HCMC’s Party Committee

On the morning of August 25th, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee organized a ceremony to announce personnel decisions. Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Standing Board decided to assign, appoint Mr. Duong Anh Duc as the Head of the Propaganda and Public Relations Commission of the Party Committee, with a term of 5 years.

Mr. Duong Anh Duc was born on August 24, 1968, in Hai Chau District, Da Nang City. He holds the position of Associate Professor of Information Technology and a Ph.D. in Mathematics.

Mr. Duong Anh Duc has a long history of working in the education sector, having served as Principal, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Information Technology under the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City; Vice President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City; Member of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City; Member of the Executive Committee and Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City; and Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 11th term (2013-2018).

From July 2017 to April 2020, Mr. Duc served as Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications. At the 19th meeting of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council on March 27, 2020, Mr. Duong Anh Duc was elected as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

On May 19, 2024, he was assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to be the Secretary of the Party Committee of District 1.

Since the beginning of July this year, Mr. Duc has been working at the Propaganda and Public Relations Commission of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee as the Vice Head, until now.
