Tan Thanh Do Seeks to Acquire an Additional 3 Million Shares of City Auto

Tan Thanh Do has just purchased an additional 3 million CTF shares, boosting its ownership stake in City Auto to 18.35%.

City Auto Joint Stock Company (CTF: HoSE) has announced a notice regarding insider trading and related persons.

According to the announcement, Tan Thanh Do Group Joint Stock Company has registered to purchase 3 million CTF shares to increase its ownership. The transaction is expected to take place between August 28, 2025, and September 26, 2025, through matching or negotiation methods.

If the transaction is successful, Tan Thanh Do will increase its ownership of CTF shares from nearly 14.6 million to nearly 17.6 million, raising its stake in City Auto from 15.21% to 18.35%.

Previously, between July 1, 2025, and July 4, 2025, Tan Thanh Do successfully purchased 6.5 million CTF shares.

Following this transaction, Tan Thanh Do’s ownership in City Auto increased from nearly 8.1 million shares (8.42%) to nearly 14.6 million shares (15.21%).

It is worth noting that Mr. Pham Anh Hung, a shareholder holding over 3.9 million CTF shares, or 4.12% of City Auto’s charter capital, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Thanh Do. Mr. Pham Anh Hung is also known as the brother-in-law of Mr. Tran Ngoc Dan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of City Auto.

In addition, Mr. Tran Lam and Mr. Tran Long, sons of the Chairman of City Auto, serve as members of the Board of Directors of City Auto and hold the positions of General Director and Deputy General Director of Tan Thanh Do, respectively.

In terms of business performance, according to the consolidated financial statements for the second quarter of 2025, City Auto recorded a revenue of over VND 2,084.8 billion, an increase of 14.6% compared to the same period last year. After deducting taxes and fees, the company reported a net profit of nearly VND 3.5 billion, an increase of 52.2%.

For the first six months of 2025, City Auto’s revenue was over VND 4,095.3 billion, an increase of 23.2% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the after-tax profit decreased by 31.2% to VND 6.4 billion.

As of June 30, 2025, City Auto’s total assets increased by 5.7% from the beginning of the year to over VND 4,139.1 billion. Short-term receivables accounted for VND 2,103.1 billion, or 50.8% of total assets, while inventory stood at nearly VND 819.6 billion, or 19.8% of total assets.

On the liabilities side, total liabilities were nearly VND 3,011.1 billion, an increase of 7.7% from the beginning of the year. Of this, loans and finance leases accounted for VND 2,483.1 billion, or 82.5% of total liabilities.
