On August 22, Central Construction JSC announced its investment in and acquisition of a 51% stake in Infrastructure Investment and Development JSC 620, marking its expansion from a construction contractor to the infrastructure field.
Established in 2006, Company 620 was initially named Long An 620 Concrete JSC, with a chartered capital of VND 42 billion, specializing in the production of precast concrete components.
In August 2014, the company increased its capital to VND 84 billion and continued to raise it to VND 168 billion in November of the same year. The largest shareholder, Mr. Pham Thanh Dien (DOB 1973), held 37.21% of the capital and also served as the legal representative of the company. In August 2016, the legal representative became Mr. Phan Van Tien – CEO. According to the company’s website, the company increased its charter capital to VND 968 billion in February 2017.
Notably, Mr. Pham Thanh Dien was a member of the Board of Directors of Investment Year 77 JSC (HOSE: NBB) from 2007 to April 2015.
Some of the projects completed by Company 620 include Package 5A of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway project, Package 17 of the Cua Dai Bridge project, and the Tay Nam Long Xuyen Urban Area project, where it served as the main contractor…
Central, on the other hand, was established on June 23, 2017, with its main business lines being the construction of railway and road works. Its initial charter capital was VND 100 billion, comprising six founding shareholders: Mr. Tran Quang Tuan (holding the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors) with 81%, Mr. Vu Duc Tai with 10%, Mr. Pham Huu Phuc with 5%, Mr. Nguyen Thien Thuat with 2%, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan with 1%, and Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tuan with 1%.
Mr. Tuan was associated with Coteccons (CTD) from its early days and served as a member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director. Just a few days after establishing Central, Mr. Tuan resigned from these positions at CTD.
Central has undertaken numerous large-scale projects, including the 5-star Marriott Hotel, Vinhomes Dream City, The Beverly Solari, Fairmont Hanoi, Vinhomes Ocean Park, and Vinpearl Phu Quoc Aquarium…
According to Central, Company 620’s strengths lie in its ability to connect the two fields of bridges and roads, from producing components to pre-stressed beam casting technology, as well as foundation and pavement construction. The head of Central stated that Company 620 currently has a revenue of nearly VND 1,450 billion per year and specializes in pre-stressed beam casting technology.
In the future, the two companies will collaborate on projects such as beam casting yards, concrete mixing stations, and diaphragm wall and bored pile stations.
