The vibrant city of Nha Trang in August 2025 played host to over 13,000 athletes who participated in the thrilling VnExpress Marathon Libera. With a stunning route along Tran Phu beach, thousands of runners embarked on a journey of pushing boundaries, embracing a spirited sporting culture, and promoting an active lifestyle within the community.

VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025 marked the fourth edition of the race, renowned for its urban bay-side course, considered one of Vietnam’s finest running experiences. This year’s event was an official celebration of Khanh Hoa province’s 80th National Day on September 2nd.
The marathon witnessed the participation of professional and amateur athletes from Vietnam and abroad, taking on various distances, including 5km, 10km, 21km, and the full 42km marathon.

The full marathon witnessed a dramatic showdown between Vietnamese marathon veterans Nguyen Van Lai and Le Van Tuan, with Nguyen Van Lai claiming victory. The half-marathon also saw a thrilling race between Vong Van Long and Le Dinh Tuong, who dramatically broke the tape together, hand in hand, to the cheers of the crowd.
In the women’s full marathon, Le Thi Ha of Binh Phuoc continued her impressive form, winning the VnExpress Marathon for the second consecutive time, following her victory in Danang, with a time of 3 hours, 3 minutes, and 29 seconds. The half-marathon women’s title went to Khanh Ly from Danang, who finished in 1 hour, 29 minutes, and 43 seconds.
As expected, the shorter distances saw young athletes dominate, with Nguyen Van Khang and Tran Vu Cat Tuong Van winning the 5km race, while Y Glap Nie and Nguyen Thi Nga claimed victory in the 10km category.
