The decision came after Le Dinh Duong submitted his resignation due to personal reasons on August 22. However, Mr. Duong will continue to be a part of the HBS leadership as he takes on a new role as Vice Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Duong, who is only 22 years old (born in 2003), has already accumulated nearly three years of experience as Chairman of HBS (appointed in October 2022). As of June 30, 2025, Mr. Duong held over 6.5 million HBS shares, representing a 19.71% stake in the company.
Another notable aspect of his background is that he is the son of former HBS Chairwoman, Nguyen Thi Loan. In September 2024, Ms. Loan was sentenced to 36 months in prison by the Hanoi People’s Court for “Violation of regulations on the sale of auction assets.” Prior to this, in November 2021, Hanoi police arrested and prosecuted Ms. Loan in connection with a case of price manipulation involving 16,000 square meters of land in Dong Anh district.
Additionally, Mr. Duong’s older brother, Le Xuan Tung (born in 1995), also serves on the Board of HBS. Mr. Tung currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VMD).
The newly appointed Chairwoman, Tran My Linh, is also a familiar face at HBS. She has been a member of the Board and concurrently served as Vice President of HBS. Ms. Linh, born in 1982, is also the General Director of VMD. Previously, from November 2022 to February 2023, she was the representative for HBS‘s information disclosure.

Recently, HBS Securities made headlines with its allegations against several former key leaders. They are accused of taking advantage of an incident in late 2021 to illegally appropriate VND 5,853.8 billion from shareholders of Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Company.
HBS accuses former leaders of embezzling nearly VND 6,000 billion after the 2021 incident
In terms of business performance, in the first half of 2025, HBS recorded revenue of over VND 15 billion. The main sources of income were profits from held-to-maturity investments and other business activities. The company also earned VND 2 billion in profits from financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss. As a result, net profit reached nearly VND 6 billion, a decrease of nearly 28% compared to the same period last year.
