V-Green and FPT Retail are joining forces to bring an extensive network of electric vehicle charging infrastructure to Vietnam. The partnership will see the installation of VinFast electric car charging stations and motorcycle battery swap cabinets at FPT Shop stores nationwide. The collaboration will take the form of franchising or leasing arrangements for the necessary space.
Based on the specific conditions of each location, the companies will strategically install electric car charging stations or motorcycle battery swap cabinets for optimal operation, with a planned launch in November 2025. FPT Retail’s extensive network of stores across provinces and V-Green’s professional operations will ensure maximum convenience for VinFast electric vehicle users, especially in the central areas of major cities.
In addition to its plan to deploy 150,000 charging ports for cars and motorcycles across 34 provinces and cities, V-Green will also establish a battery swap cabinet system for VinFast electric motorcycles, aiming for 150,000 swap points within the next three years.
Furthermore, V-Green will offer franchising opportunities for electric motorcycle battery swap cabinets, mirroring their successful approach with electric car charging stations, to rapidly increase the density of swap points nationwide.
According to VinFast, the company will install the first 1,000 battery swap stations in October 2025, reaching 50,000 stations by the end of the year, and completing the entire network within three years. VinFast’s network of battery swap stations is designed to far outnumber traditional gas stations.
The battery swap-enabled motorcycle models from VinFast will feature similar specifications to their battery-included counterparts, with the unique feature being a dual-compartment battery design. This design allows for easy removal and replacement of two batteries at public swap stations, each with a capacity of 1.5 kWh. Customers can choose to rent one or two batteries depending on their needs, with a monthly rental fee of 200,000 VND per battery and a swap cost of 9,000 VND per swap (including electricity charges). This provides an extremely cost-effective energy solution, with a maximum range of 85 km per battery per charge under standard conditions, at a fraction of the cost of gasoline for the same distance.
The first model to offer the battery swap option will be the Evo Max, launching in October 2025 at a price of 20 million VND. Subsequently, VinFast will introduce three additional battery swap models before the end of the year: the Feliz Max (24.9 million VND), Verox Max (33.9 million VND), and Drift Max (39.9 million VND), catering to a wide range of customer needs.
VinFast will continue to offer the battery-included option for customers who prefer full ownership and home charging. Alternatively, customers can choose to buy the motorcycle without batteries and rent them separately, charging at home according to their preferences.
