In a recent development, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member and Permanent Member of the Secretariat, presided over the ceremony to announce the decision of the Politburo regarding the appointment of Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Central Committee member and Permanent Vice Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, as the new Head of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies.
This important event was graced by the presence of fellow Politburo members Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Commission, and Nguyen Van Nen, permanent member of the Sub-Committee for Documents of the 14th Party Congress and supervisor of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. Also in attendance were Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Central Committee’s Office, other Central Committee members, representatives from central agencies, deputy heads of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies, representatives from Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, officials, and journalists.
Comrade Tran Cam Tu’s Remarks: Highlighting Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi’s qualifications, Comrade Tran Cam Tu mentioned his comprehensive training and diverse work experience in both central and local positions. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi has demonstrated capability and experience in Party building and state management, along with a scientific, decisive, and effective approach to work, always staying close to the grassroots. He has successfully fulfilled his duties and achieved significant results in his areas of responsibility.
Emphasizing the significance of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies as an important advisory body to the Party Central Committee, Comrade Tran Cam Tu stressed the need for timely personnel adjustments to ensure the direct leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in strategic and crucial areas. He urged Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi to quickly adapt to his new role, utilizing his practical work experience, and collaborating with the leadership team of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies to excel in their advisory role. This includes providing guidance in refining and perfecting the economic system and formulating major policies and measures for socio-economic development.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi’s Response: Expressing his gratitude to the Politburo and the Secretariat for their trust and confidence in assigning him this new role, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi also extended his appreciation to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and its people for their support during his tenure as the Permanent Vice Secretary.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged the great honor and immense responsibility that comes with his new position. He pledged to exert his utmost effort and determination in carrying out his duties, adopting a receptive and united approach, to work together with the collective leadership of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies to successfully accomplish their assigned tasks.

Biography of Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Central Committee member, Head of the Central Committee for Policies and Strategies:
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi was born on August 12, 1976, of Kinh ethnicity, and a native of Ca Mau province. He joined the Party on January 26, 1999. His educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Construction Engineering and a high-level political theory degree.
12/2008 – 11/2011: Vice Rector, Head of the Department of Postgraduate and International Relations – Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture; Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture; Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction’s Bloc; At the 11th National Congress of the Party in January 2011, he was elected as an Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee.
