Bac Ninh Province has just held a conference to review the production and consumption of lychees in 2025 and deploy orientations and tasks for 2026.

According to the conference, in 2025, the province maintained an area of 29,700 hectares. The consumption output reached over 205,400 tons, the highest ever. Notably, the quality of lychees this year is rated higher than last year and can be said to be the best ever.

Of which, domestic consumption was about 127,200 tons (accounting for 62%), and exports were about 78,200 tons. Especially, besides the domestic market and traditional markets, this year, lychee products have made significant progress in exports.

Lychees have successfully exported nearly 430 tons through official channels to premium markets such as the US, Canada, Japan, the EU, and Australia, and are sold in large supermarket systems such as Safeway, Albertsons, Costco, Selgros, and Rungis International Market (France)…

The price of lychees produced according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic standards is stable at VND 25,000 – 35,000/kg. In premium markets, this price ranges from VND 220,000 to 550,000/kg and is well received by international consumers.

Total revenue from lychees and auxiliary services reached over VND 6,245 billion, of which revenue from lychees was about VND 3,719 billion, and the rest was from transportation, preservation, tourism experience, and beekeeping services…

This great success is due to the fact that in 2025, Bac Ninh Province synchronously implemented many solutions to promote and connect consumption, combining traditional and modern methods harmoniously.

Notably, for the first time, the provincial leaders directly participated in livestreaming to promote and sell lychees on digital platforms, combining online stores on e-commerce floors (Voso, Sendo, Shopee, Lazada, Amazon…) and modern distribution systems, creating a strong spread effect.

Along with that, many localities in the growing area actively organized promotional events associated with ecological tourism development, forming lychee experience tours, thereby enhancing the value and affirming the brand of Bac Ninh lychees.

As soon as the season ended, the foreign partner, Dragonberry Produce Company (USA), worked to promote cooperation and prepare the necessary conditions for exporting Bac Ninh lychees to the North American market from the 2026 season.

In the 2025 season, Dragonberry Produce Company successfully exported 100 tons of fresh Bac Ninh lychees to premium markets such as Japan, Canada, and the US.

This is also the first time that Vietnamese lychees have officially appeared in the Costco retail system with more than 600 supermarkets in North America – marking an important turning point in the journey of Vietnamese agricultural products to conquer the international market.

Regarding the proposal to plan cooperation and invest in building a lychee processing factory for export from 2026 and expand the consumption market in North America, Bac Ninh Province requested related departments to coordinate closely and support the company in the process of surveying and completing investment procedures and policies.

At the same time, the province builds and expands the lychee material area to meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, associated with managing the planting area code, ensuring that it meets the requirements of plant quarantine and quality standards of the North American market.
