According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the handling capacity across ACV-operated airports during the five-day holiday period (August 29 to September 2) is expected to reach approximately 11,000 take-offs and landings, serving over 1.8 million passengers.

Domestic handling capacity is estimated at 7,000 take-offs and landings, or 1,400 per day, marking a 7% increase compared to the August daily average and a 15% surge from the same period last year. About 1.1 million domestic passengers are expected, averaging 220,000 per day, which translates to a 5% rise from the August daily average and a 10% year-on-year increase.

The peak day is anticipated to be August 29, with 1,450 take-offs and landings and 230,000 domestic passengers.

As for international operations, ACV forecasts a handling capacity of 4,000 take-offs and landings, averaging 800 per day. This represents a 1-2% increase from the August 2025 daily average and a 10% year-on-year surge. Approximately 750,000 international arrivals are expected during the National Day holiday, averaging 150,000 per day, indicating a 2-3% rise from the August daily average and a significant 20% jump from the previous year. The international handling capacity is mainly concentrated at Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc airports.

Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to serve about 125,000 passengers (75,000 domestic and 50,000 international) during the National Day holiday, a 6% increase compared to the current daily average of 118,000 passengers. On the peak days of August 30 and September 2, the airport may handle up to 750 flights and 130,000 passengers.

According to ACV, Noi Bai Airport is experiencing a remarkable growth in international passenger volume, with some days reaching nearly 44,000 passengers – the highest ever. Domestic passenger numbers are also expected to surge, with the airport estimated to serve approximately 110,000 passengers and 638 flights on the busiest day, representing a 20% increase from the same period last year.

“To ensure smooth operations, ACV has made thorough preparations in terms of infrastructure, equipment, and personnel at all its airports. Aviation security and safety are accorded the highest priority, with close coordination maintained with the Vietnam Aviation Authority and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to handle any eventuality and prevent disruptions,” said an ACV representative.
