The project is envisioned to create a super urban tourism, resort, and real estate complex, adding leverage to Danang’s competitiveness after its merger with Quang Nam, becoming an international-scale destination.

The Ba Na – Suoi Mo Ecological Tourism and Urban Area complex spans over 806 hectares in Ba Na and Hoa Vang communes, with a total investment of VND 52,000 billion. It comprises the Suoi Mo Ecological Tourism and Urban Area at the foot of Ba Na mountain and the Ecological Tourism Area on its peak.

The Suoi Mo Ecological Tourism and Urban Area at the foot of the mountain will feature distinctive subdivisions, including an amusement park (water park, thrill rides, family entertainment…), a high-tech amusement park (space adventure games – 5D cinema, future world exploration, VR games – virtual reality…), and a premium resort and modern golf complex spanning 294 hectares, surrounded by luxurious villas overlooking the 36-hole golf course.

The immediate development phase includes a 2,500-room, 5-star hotel and entertainment complex, featuring entertainment facilities, a multipurpose performance hall, an indoor themed garden, and a convention center, with a total investment of approximately VND 20,000 billion.

Additionally, Sun Group has commenced construction on the Ba Na No. 9 cable car route, with a one-way length of 5,879 meters, comprising 154 cabins and a capacity of 2,900 passengers per hour.

On August 27, Danang City, in collaboration with Sun Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Project for Investment, Construction, and Business of Infrastructure in Functional Area No. 5 of Danang Free Trade Zone, laying the foundation for Vietnam’s first free trade zone.

Established by the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025, this is Vietnam’s first free trade zone (FTZ), spanning approximately 1,881 hectares across seven areas in Hai Chau Ward, Ba Na and Hoa Vang communes, with functions encompassing production, logistics, trade and services, digital technology, information technology, and innovation.

Earlier, on June 22, at the ceremony announcing the Prime Minister’s decision on the establishment of Danang Free Trade Zone, Sun Group signed a memorandum of understanding to invest in subdivisions 5, 6, and 7, covering an area of approximately 645 hectares.

Subsequently, on August 26, the Danang People’s Committee issued Decision No. 1175/QD-UBND, approving in principle the investment and selecting Sun Group as the investor for the commercial and service functional area in Position No. 5 of the FTZ, located in Ba Na commune, at the foot of Ba Na mountain.

Thus, Sun Group becomes the first investor to receive a license to operate within the chain of subdivisions in Danang’s free trade zone. The group will focus on developing unique resort complexes, emphasizing eco-tourism, medical tourism, and premium healthcare services, featuring villas, resorts, and world-class entertainment facilities, along with duty-free shops, high-end shopping malls, and other premium services, offering a serene, luxurious experience and international-standard shopping. Notably, in the field of healthcare and medicine, the group will pilot new mechanisms and policies for medicine and healthcare for the first time in the country.
