On August 27th, VinFast officially handed over a special batch of Lac Hong 900 LX vehicles to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for transporting international dignitaries during the Grand Celebration of the 80th National Day (September 2nd, 1945 – September 2nd, 2025). This limited-edition series showcases a unique blend of traditional cultural elements and international safety standards, marking a significant step forward in VinFast’s journey to build a leading Vietnamese automotive brand.
The Lac Hong 900 LX series offers two distinct versions: the standard model and an armored variant. Both versions boast an elegant design inspired by traditional Vietnamese cultural symbols. Distinctive features include a golden-plated Lak bird logo, a grille reminiscent of the Dong Son bronze drum, and parallel bars resembling bamboo stalks, seamlessly integrated with modern craftsmanship. The interior showcases premium materials such as Golden Nanmu wood, Nappa leather, and handcrafted gold-plated details, creating a luxurious and comfortable space.
The armored version of the Lac Hong 900 LX is particularly noteworthy, meeting the VPAM VR7 standard—the highest level of protection for vehicles used by dignitaries. This variant is fully armored, with reinforced chassis, bulletproof glass, and partitions by INKAS (Canada) and has undergone rigorous testing in Germany. Its resilience is proven by withstanding 440 rounds of ammunition and multiple mine blasts during trials. Additionally, the vehicle can be equipped with specialized systems such as backup oxygen, integrated firefighting, and satellite phones based on specific requirements.
The armored Lac Hong 900 LX weighs 5,049 kg, while the standard version weighs over 3,000 kg. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds (compared to 6.8 seconds for the standard model) and has a top speed of 150 km/h. Both vehicles are fitted with Run Flat tires, enabling them to travel 80-100 km even with a flat tire.
Powered by a 123 kWh battery, the Lac Hong 900 LX offers a range of 450 km on a single charge and can be charged from 10% to 70% in just 35 minutes. It also boasts a water wading capability of 450 meters.
The first batch of deliveries includes two armored vehicles and ten standard models. Being chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve international dignitaries during this significant national event is a testament to the quality and prestige of the Lac Hong 900 LX series. According to Vingroup’s representative, this product line not only holds commercial value but also embodies the aspiration to elevate the nation’s brand and introduce a modern, innovative, and globally integrated image of Vietnam to the world.
