Robusta Prices Rise for Six Consecutive Sessions
Concerns of a Bubble Burst
Global coffee prices continue to soar as several factors push prices upward, including the 50% retaliatory tariff imposed by the US on Brazil, the cooling of US interest rates, and the largest supplier, Brazil, restricting sales while Vietnam nears the end of its crop season.
However, experts caution coffee holders to closely monitor the market and sell at opportune moments, as factors that could cause a decline in coffee prices remain. These include Brazil’s record-high coffee production of 65 million bags (including 25 million bags of Robusta) and expectations of a bountiful harvest in Vietnam this year.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) reported that coffee exports in the first half of August reached 41,745 tons, with a turnover of nearly $225 million. Vietnam’s coffee exports continue to witness a significant downturn.
The Robust Coffee Bean: A Record-Breaking Brew
November marks the peak harvest season for Vietnamese Robusta coffee, yet coffee prices for this period have soared to a staggering peak of over 5,000 USD per ton.
