On August 29, according to NLD reporters, airlines such as Vietjet and Bamboo Airways are offering a plethora of flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, with prices starting as low as 2 million VND one-way.
This price is a bargain compared to last week’s average of 2.2 million VND and is a significant drop from the 2.7-2.8 million VND price tag at the beginning of August.
Similarly, Vietnam Airlines has slashed their prices for the same route, offering tickets from as low as 2.2 million VND, a steal compared to the previous week’s prices of around 3.8 million VND.
Passengers can choose from a variety of departure times, from early morning to late at night. Flying during off-peak hours, such as early morning or late at night, can often result in significant savings compared to peak times. Interestingly, Vietnam Airlines is offering business class tickets at the same price as their special economy fares, with prices hovering around 4 million VND.

Plenty of Hanoi-bound Flight Tickets Still Available
The drop in airfare comes as airlines increase the number of flights to meet the rising demand for travel, especially to Hanoi for the upcoming September 2 holiday.
Vietnam Airlines, for instance, will provide nearly 600,000 seats across their network during the six-day peak period from August 29 to September 3, which equates to nearly 2,900 flights—an increase of over 100,000 seats compared to the same period last year.
Vietjet has also stepped up, adding nearly 10,000 seats, equivalent to 50 extra flights, during the four-day holiday period.

According to the Vietnam Aviation Authority, Noi Bai International Airport is expected to serve approximately 110,000 passengers and accommodate 638 flights on its busiest day during the September 2 holiday, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
To meet this demand, Noi Bai International Airport has meticulously planned and proactively devised strategies to address any potential challenges, ensuring a seamless experience for international visitors and domestic travelers alike.
Meanwhile, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the average number of daily flights during the September 2 holiday period is expected to reach 730, a 6% increase over the current flight schedule.
