Prior to this announcement, Hung had already been charged and issued an arrest warrant, but he was not found at his residence and his whereabouts are currently unknown, leading to the decision to issue a wanted notice.

According to the investigation, Urban Green Company, where Bui Tuan Hung served as Chairman and founding shareholder, had not completed legal procedures and did not obtain permission for land subdivision to develop real estate projects in Tan An Hoi and Hoa Phu wards (formerly Cu Chi district).

Despite this, Hung directed Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, the company’s director, to collaborate with Ngo Thanh Uyn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dia Oc Lac Viet and Vina Land, to distribute and sell land plots in the unauthorized projects Green City, Green Town, and Urban Green 1.

Through the sale of these unpermitted projects, the group defrauded a total of VND 147 billion from unsuspecting customers.

On November 21, 2022, the Investigation Agency of Ho Chi Minh City initiated legal proceedings, arrested, and searched the residences of Ngo Thanh Uyn and Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh for the crime of “Fraudulent Appropriation of Property.”

In relation to this case, the Ho Chi Minh City Police request that victims contact Team 2, Economic Police Division at 14 Doan Nhu Hai, Xom Chieu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, or call 0868.177.879 (Officer Ngo Van Hiep) and send denunciation letters via postal mail before August 31 for reception and handling.
