Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic: An Affordable Performance Sedan

According to a sales consultant in Ho Chi Minh City, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic is now more affordable than ever, with a selling price of 1.98 billion VND. The on-road price of this high-performance variant is over 2.2 billion VND, making it a great value proposition.

However, the pricing of the C 43 varies across dealerships and sales consultants. Some offer this high-performance model for over 2 billion VND. Nonetheless, this price is significantly lower than the original listing price of 2.6 billion VND. Initially, the listed price of the C 43 was even higher, reaching nearly 2 billion VND.

At this price point, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 becomes a compelling choice when compared to other high-performance offerings from competing brands. For instance, the Subaru WRX is priced at approximately 1.8 billion VND, while the Honda Civic Type R costs around 3 billion VND. Meanwhile, the C 43 belongs to a higher segment, the D-segment, whereas the Japanese models mentioned are in the C-segment.

Interestingly, the C 43’s pricing also competes directly with the standard C-Class variant, the C 300, as well as the BMW 330i. All of these competitors are locally assembled in Vietnam.

What Makes the C 43 Special?

The C 43’s key strengths lie in its engine and handling. The Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic in Vietnam is equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine with the code M139, paired with a mild-hybrid system, delivering an impressive 408 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The car features a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, as claimed by the manufacturer.

Additionally, the C 43 boasts advanced driving features such as an adaptive suspension system, a rear-axle steering system with a 2.5-degree steering angle, and a Race Start mode. These features set it apart from the more subdued C 300.

In terms of design, the C 43 exudes a sporty character with its AMG body kit, similar to the C 300, but with distinct accents that highlight its high-performance nature. It features a signature AMG vertical-slat grille, 19-inch multi-spoke wheels, red-painted AMG brake calipers, a trunk lid spoiler, and dual exhaust tips at the rear. The car is also equipped with Digital Light technology for superior illumination.

While the C 43 excels in performance, it doesn’t compromise on luxury and comfort. In addition to the dual-screen setup shared with the C 300, the C 43 offers amenities such as a four-zone automatic climate control system, a Burmester 3D surround sound system with 15 speakers, an AMG Performance steering wheel with dedicated buttons, a sports engine sound simulator, and a panoramic sunroof.

With a real-world price of around 2 billion VND, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 presents an attractive opportunity for those seeking a high-performance sedan. Despite having a similar price to the C 300, the standard variant will still have its own appeal, as not everyone is looking for a sporty family car.
