As the world marches towards the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, Honda is accelerating its electric vehicle strategy and has announced plans to introduce approximately 10 new models globally by 2025. In Vietnam, Honda has launched a few official electric motorcycle models such as the ICON e: and CUV e:, but the number remains modest.

Let’s take a look at some potential Honda electric vehicles that could be launching in Vietnam soon.

Honda E-VO

The Honda E-VO is a high-performance model with a Cafe Racer style from the Chinese market. With a maximum power output of 15.8 kW (approximately 21 horsepower) and a top speed of up to 120 km/h, the E-VO can easily meet the needs of those looking to switch from large-displacement gasoline engines to electric motors. This bike can travel up to 170 km on a single charge and supports impressive fast charging, requiring just 1 hour of charging for a 50 km range (with an 1800W charger).

The price of this model in China is approximately VND 109-135 million.

Honda Sundiro DM8B

Another electric motorcycle from Honda, the Sundiro DM8B, has been confirmed by importers to arrive in Vietnam by the end of 2025. Nicknamed the “electric PCX” due to its modern and bulky scooter design, this model is developed by the Sundiro-Honda joint venture in China, targeting the mass-market segment.

According to initial information, the bike is equipped with a 72V-32Ah lead-acid battery, equivalent to a capacity of about 2.3 kWh. It is expected to be available in two versions: Standard and Pro, with differences in power output and maximum travel distance ranging from 70 to 80 km per charge.

Honda EV Fun

The latest electric motorcycle from Honda, the EV Fun, was just introduced on September 2. Built upon the previously shown EV Fun Concept, this could be a pre-production version before its official launch at EICMA later this year.

Initial images reveal several changes from the concept, including a new rear wheel design, a rectangular TFT display, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires. The left-hand control cluster is more intricate, suggesting the integration of advanced electronics.

In terms of performance, this electric motorcycle is expected to offer power equivalent to a mid-range gasoline engine (250-750cc). It should have a range of over 100 km and will feature fast-charging CCS2 technology, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
