THACO Chu Lai Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park expansion project has been inaugurated by THACO Corporation.

The project spans an area of 115 hectares with a

total investment of nearly VND 8 trillion

(including VND 1,433 billion for infrastructure development).

This expanded Mechanical Center integrates mechanical products, smart automation equipment, and high-tech components from THACO’s existing factories in Chu Lai, creating a hub for innovation.

THACO’s state-of-the-art factory in Chu Lai.

The project embodies a new-generation industrial park model, characterized by green development, automation, intelligence, and the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

It encompasses several key components.

Next-generation component factories: These facilities will manufacture electronic boards, smart electrical and electronic components, central control systems, sensors, and dedicated communication equipment for automation.

Assembly and fabrication plants for mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, and automation: This includes the production of robots, autonomous vehicles (AGV and AMR), 3D printing technology, advanced CNC machines, light civilian aircraft, drones, fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, and control systems for high-speed trains and urban rail.

The Center operates as a closed-loop system, encompassing product design, material research and manufacturing, production and assembly, quality control, packaging, and transportation, adhering to international standards and customized requirements.

Research and development (R&D) is positioned as a new growth driver, accompanied by THACO’s commitment to cultivating a highly skilled workforce and attracting domestic and foreign experts. This synergy enhances innovation capabilities and fosters the creation of technologically advanced products that cater to market demands and global trends.

The expanded Mechanical Center will produce high-tech products while utilizing certain outputs from the Da Nang High-Tech Park, fostering a synergistic and complementary ecosystem. This integration contributes to Da Nang’s vision of becoming a leading hub for high-tech industries and supporting industries in Vietnam, as outlined in the city’s development plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050.

With the THACO Chu Lai Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park expansion, there are high expectations for attracting new investments in the fields of mechanics and supporting industries, increasing localization rates, and enhancing participation in regional and global supply chains.

Additionally, the project will boost production and export scales, promote port and logistics services, contribute to the local budget and trade balance, create employment opportunities, enhance labor quality, foster innovation, and encourage sustainable infrastructure development, advocating for green and circular industrial park models.

Established in 1997, THACO is a leading conglomerate in Vietnam, chaired by Mr. Tran Ba Duong.

Evolving from a company specializing in importing used cars and providing auto spare parts, THACO has transformed into a multi-industry group comprising six subsidiary groups: THACO AUTO (Automotive), THACO INDUSTRIES (Mechanics and Supporting Industries), THACO AGRI (Agriculture), THADICO (Investment and Construction), THISO (Trade and Services), and THILOGI (Logistics). These groups complement each other and exhibit a high level of integration.
