On September 3rd, Mr. Do Van Minh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tam Ky Ward (Da Nang City), stated that he is awaiting the official conclusion of the Da Nang City leaders to implement the next steps in the plan to relocate Tam Ky Market to a more suitable location.

Tam Ky Market
According to Mr. Minh, the former Tam Ky City had previously planned to relocate Tam Ky Market to a new location due to its small size, overcapacity, and inefficient functionality, causing disorder, affecting urban aesthetics and traffic safety, and frequent flooding during the rainy season.
Additionally, the market is located close to the Ban Thach River, which complicates wastewater management and poses a high risk of environmental pollution. The densely populated area also raises safety concerns in case of fire or explosion…
It is expected that Tam Ky Market will be relocated to Block 5, former An Son Ward, merging its operations with Vuon Lai Market.
“This is just the initial plan, and the relocation will follow a roadmap. We will seek consensus by consulting with the market traders,” Mr. Minh said.

Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, speaking at a voter contact event in Tam Ky Ward on August 27th
Previously, at a voter contact event in Tam Ky Ward on August 27th, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, instructed the People’s Committee of Tam Ky Ward to coordinate with Huong Tra Ward to continue implementing the plan to relocate Tam Ky Market and include it in the medium-term public investment plan for Da Nang City to provide financial support for the project.
According to Mr. Hung, the Tam Ky City Party Committee had previously decided to move Tam Ky Market to the An Son area, which has been planned to provide a spacious and comfortable environment. As for the old Tam Ky Market site, it will be put up for auction to develop commercial and service areas that are more suitable.
Mr. Hung believes that with its advantageous location on four fronts, including Bach Dang Street facing the river, the current Tam Ky Market, if auctioned and invested in appropriately, will become a driving force for development, bringing positive changes to the entire Tam Ky area.
