“Banks in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Work Through Holidays to Distribute 100,000 VND Gifts to Locals”

The Dong Nai administration has disbursed 3 billion Vietnamese dong in cash, specifically 100,000 VND notes, to commercial bank branches for distribution as gifts to the local populace.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank’s Branch in Region II, provided information regarding payment activities during the recent 2-9 holiday celebrations.

The banking sector in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province collaborated with the State Treasury to meet the local government’s cash needs. This ensured timely distribution of the government’s Independence Day gifts to the people, especially in mountainous, rural, and remote areas of the province.

The State Bank’s Region II directed payment tasks across the banking system in the Southeast region. Credit institutions, particularly the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) with its branches and transaction offices in the communes of Dong Nai province, proactively ensured smooth banking services during the holiday period.

This involved utilizing all payment methods and coordinating with the State Treasury to meet the local government’s cash requirements, particularly in mountainous, rural, and remote areas.

The banking sector in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province provided timely cash for local authorities to distribute Independence Day gifts to the people.

“On August 30, Dong Nai province disbursed 30 billion VND in cash (in 100,000 VND denominations) to Agribank branches in the region to distribute gifts from the government to the people of the communes (formerly in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts) ensuring that people received their gifts on Independence Day,” said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh.

Additionally, the State Bank’s Branch in Region II instructed credit institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province to ensure smooth service delivery during the holiday period. This included maintaining the smooth operation of ATMs, online payment services, and electronic banking services, providing guidance to customers and locals, and promptly handling any issues that may arise. Security of bank premises and operations during the holiday period was also emphasized.

The State Treasury has recently issued Document No. 9823 dated August 29, 2025, to adjust its system operations and ensure the distribution of the government’s 100,000 VND gifts to the people.

Earlier, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 149 dated August 28, regarding gifts for people nationwide on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. The gift amount is 100,000 VND per person, allowing everyone to celebrate Independence Day.
