
On August 19, the National Exhibition and Fair Center was officially inaugurated, ready for the Exhibition of the Country’s Achievements on the occasion of the 80th National Day. The Vietnam Exhibition Center is located on Truong Sa road, Dong Hoi and Xuan Canh, Dong Anh, Hanoi. The center is designed to become a destination for political, economic, cultural, and tourism events of national and international stature, serving as a driving force for the development of Vietnam’s modern exhibition economy.
With a total scale of over 900,000 square meters, a total investment of up to VND 7,000 billion, and a design scale of up to 304,000 square meters of indoor exhibition area – Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) will be in the top 10 largest exhibition center complexes in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia. The center is invested by Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Center Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of Vingroup Corporation.
The center consists of 7 main items: “Kim Quy Exhibition House – The largest round exhibition house in the world with a total area of 104,863 square meters, with a dome structure made of 24,000 tons of steel; 4 Outdoor Exhibition Parks with a total area of more than 200,000 square meters, ranking Top 3 in the world in terms of outdoor exhibition area, suitable for large-scale outdoor events, exhibitions, festivals, cultural and tourism activities, or multiple activities at the same time.
The permanent exhibition center with a total floor area of over 80,000 square meters; International standard conference center with 3 large ballrooms that can be interconnected with a capacity of up to 5,000 people; Utility area such as cargo loading and unloading area with a length and width of 5m – 10m is designed for trucks and containers to easily move and enter directly inside the exhibition halls and outdoor parking area with an area of up to nearly 18ha, providing nearly 10,000 parking spaces including 3,000 car parking spaces and nearly 400 spaces for trucks, containers and large coaches; Commercial service works area, high-rise hotels, offices and landscape area with bow and arrow park.”

Notably, Mr. Cormac Rabl, Director of Operations and Project Implementation of the National Exhibition and Fair Center, said that this project started construction in August 2024 and has used 24,000 tons of steel (a record number) to create a steel roof structure that is 56m high. The project construction progress is being accelerated earlier than the initial plan of 2 years, with a total of 10.5 months of construction. Along with that, there are nearly 3,000 engineers and workers working continuously in 3 shifts/day, 24/7 at the construction site.
Along with the Kim Quy Exhibition House and the Outdoor Exhibition Area, the remaining items such as the Permanent Exhibition Center, International Standard Conference and Wedding Center… are being urgently completed as required by the Steering Committee and handed over in full to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Notably, the project used a record 24,000 tons of steel to create a 56-meter-high steel roof structure. The construction was completed in 10.5 months, with nearly 3,000 engineers and workers working around the clock in 3 shifts per day.
The remaining components, such as the Permanent Exhibition Center, International Standard Conference and Wedding Center, are being finalized to ensure a complete infrastructure for the Exhibition of the Country’s Achievements on the occasion of the 80th National Day.
According to the organizers, in the first 6 days of opening, the Exhibition of the Country’s Achievements on the occasion of the 80th National Day at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) welcomed nearly 4 million visitors – a record number never before seen in any exhibition in Vietnam.
On the busiest day, the Vietnam Exhibition Center served over 1 million people. Specifically, the number of visitors on the past days was as follows: Day 1 (August 28) – over 230,000 people; Day 2 (August 29) – nearly 300,000 people; Day 3 (August 30) – over 650,000 people; Day 4 (August 31) – about 800,000 people; Day 5 (September 1) – about 1.05 million people; Day 6 (September 2) – about 900,000 people.
Despite welcoming a record number of visitors in the history of exhibitions in Vietnam, the Vietnam Exhibition Center still ensured full, thoughtful, clean, and safe services for visitors.

The exhibition also featured other events such as robot performances, culinary demonstrations, hot air balloon shows, artistic kite performances, traditional craft performances by artisans, traditional art performances by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 34 provinces and cities.
