National Exhibition Celebrating 80 Years of Achievements Attracts Nearly 4 Million Visitors in 6 Days
The exhibition, titled “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness,” has become a must-visit destination in Vietnam. In just the first six days, from August 28 to September 2, the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) welcomed nearly 4 million visitors, breaking all records for previous exhibitions in the country.

Here is a breakdown of the number of visitors the exhibition center attracted on each of the past few days:
Opening day (August 28): Over 230,000 people
Second day: More than 300,000 people
Third day: Approximately 650,000 people
Fourth day: Around 800,000 people
Fifth day: About 1.05 million people
Sixth day (September 2): Nearly 900,000 people
Given the overwhelming response and public interest, the Prime Minister has decided to extend the exhibition until September 15, providing more opportunities for people to visit and engage with the exhibits and events.

This national exhibition is the largest of its kind, featuring the full participation of 28 central ministries and agencies, 34 localities, and over 110 businesses and large corporations. It boasts over 230 booths covering the entire area of the exhibition center.
The exhibition showcases various thematic areas, presenting historical milestones and core values, as well as significant achievements in the nation’s history of nation-building and heroic defense.
Vietnam’s Top 10 Exhibition Center: A Super Project Completed in 10.5 Months
The Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC), located in Dong Anh, Hanoi, spans over 90 hectares and features an impressive 130,000 sqm of indoor exhibition space, ranking it among the top 10 largest exhibition centers worldwide.
Construction on this super project commenced on August 30, 2024, and it was completed in just 10.5 months, with the grand opening taking place in August 2025. This timeline far exceeded the initial 2-year projection.

With its rapid construction timeline, the Vietnam Exposition Center sets a new record for the speed of building a large-scale national exhibition venue, outpacing renowned exhibition centers such as the World Exhibition and Convention Center in Shenzhen (160 ha, top 1 in the world), which took 3.5 years to complete, and the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai (147 ha, top 2 in the world), which was completed in 3 years.
The architectural highlight of the center is the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall, inspired by the legend of the Golden Turtle God who aided in the construction of the ancient citadel of Co Loa. This iconic structure has an outer diameter of approximately 360 meters and a dome rising over 56 meters high. The exhibition halls within the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall are seamlessly connected, creating an open space with a total area of more than 94,000 sqm, making it the second-largest interconnected exhibition space in the world.

The steel dome of the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall weighs 24,000 tons, with a diameter of 360 meters, covering an area of more than 10 hectares, equivalent to approximately 14 FIFA-standard football fields. The dome reaches a height of 57 meters. This is a Grade I construction project with a dome-shaped roof system and a large span covered by a membrane. The investors demanded extremely high precision, allowing for only a few millimeters of deviation in the dome’s construction.
Since its inauguration, the Vietnam Exposition Center has become an architectural and artistic landmark and a venue for hosting significant political, economic, cultural, and entertainment events on a regional and international scale, elevating Vietnam’s standing and reputation on the global stage.
