Ninja Van Vietnam, a well-known logistics company operating for almost a decade in the country, has unexpectedly announced the discontinuation of its express delivery service. As of September 3, they will no longer accept new orders.

According to the company, any remaining orders in the system will be processed and completed by September 26, with refunds issued to customers by September 30 if necessary. The company advises customers not to create new orders as they cannot guarantee fulfillment.

On September 4, reporters from NLD contacted Ninja Van Vietnam’s customer service hotline, and employees confirmed that they were no longer accepting new orders as of September 3 and would be ceasing all operations in the Vietnamese market in the near future. However, no specific reasons were given for this decision.

Ninja Van Vietnam announces the discontinuation of its express delivery service.

Regarding a potential return to the Vietnamese market, the company has not released any official information or plans at this time.

Ninja Van was established in 2014 in Singapore by three co-founders: Lai Chang Wen, Boxian Tan, and Shaun Chong. Starting with just one old van, the company initially focused on fashion logistics for the co-founders’ clothing business.

However, they quickly expanded across six Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam in 2016. At its peak, Ninja Van handled over 2 million orders per day and had over 4,000 pickup points.

In recent years, the logistics market has been fraught with intense price competition, which Ninja Van’s CEO and co-founder, Lai Chang Wen, described as a “race to the bottom.”

In Vietnam, the express delivery market is currently dominated by industry leaders such as Viettel Post, Shopee Express, Giao Hàng Tiết Kiệm, Vietnam Post, J&T Express, and Giao Hàng Nhanh.
