The Tan Nam – Meun Chey International Gate is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods between the two countries, promote development cooperation and friendly exchanges, and ultimately improve the livelihoods of border residents. Additionally, this border gate will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship and neighborly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.
In reality, the Tan Nam International Gate construction project (located in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province) opposite Cambodia’s Meun Chay gate in Prey Veng province, has a total investment of VND 274 billion (approximately USD 11.7 million), with funding from the central budget and the provincial budget. The project is under the management of the Tay Ninh Provincial Project Management Unit.
The Tan Nam International Gate project comprises five main items: the national gate, the integrated control station, a square and ceremony area, the border control station, the main road axis, and technical infrastructure (electricity, water, fire protection, and firefighting). Notably, the design and architectural style of all items prioritize solemnity, symbolism, and national and cultural identity, while also harmonizing with the landscape and investment scale.
